• The common house of women of Bach Dong Sea
  • “Hamlet without poor households” in Bien Bach
  • The Congress of Delegates of Bien Bach Commune Party Committee was a great success.

Although not yet bustling, Bien Bach is now very different from the past: spacious corrugated iron houses are built close together, and smooth concrete roads reach every hamlet. More importantly, the aspiration to rise up and become rich legitimately is taking shape here among the people - as shared by the commune leaders.

A vivid example is Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang (Huynh Nuoi Hamlet). Nearly 15 years ago, he boldly invested in commercial civet farming to create an additional source of income besides shrimp and rice. “Compared to chickens and pigs, raising civets is much more effective. Civets are less prone to disease, do not require much care, and have high economic value,” Mr. Thang shared. Currently, his family has about 200 civets in 150 cages, supplying the market with 240 breeding animals each year, with an average income of 250-300 million VND.

Not only Mr. Thang's family, many families in Tan Cong hamlet, one of the richest hamlets in the commune, also know how to diversify. production model . The hamlet Party Secretary, Mr. Ho Van Nghia, excitedly said: “In addition to shrimp and rice, about 40 households also raise pigs. Thanks to that, people's lives are increasingly better. The whole hamlet has more than 400 households, now there are only 2 poor households (lonely elderly people), 4 near-poor households are expected to escape the poverty line by the end of this year.”

Economic development creates a foundation for people to enthusiastically participate in local movements. Tan Cong Hamlet is currently notable for its many flower roads and green hedges. In particular, the hamlet's "Green - Clean - Beautiful Road" model won the A prize in the 2024 district-level competition. Mr. Nghia said: "This success is thanks to the consensus of the people. We did not stop there but also implemented additional models of waste classification, 'My house is safe'... to build an increasingly green, clean and beautiful rural appearance."

The green fenced roads in Tan Cong hamlet are beautiful, creating a look for the countryside.

During the development process, agriculture is still the mainstay of Bien Bach commune, focusing on rice, crops, aquaculture and livestock and poultry farming. Thanks to the application of intensive farming, crop rotation, intercropping, and moving towards commodity production, the commune's economy has had stable development. At the same time, the commune has also promoted the renovation of mixed gardens, and the conversion of crop and livestock varieties to increase production efficiency.

From now until 2030, Bien Bach sets clear goals: average annual growth rate of state budget revenue of 6%; product value in the area increases by 8%/year; average income per capita by 2030 reaches about 85 million VND, an increase of 35% compared to 2025; poverty rate decreases by 0.15%/year; continue to maintain and improve new rural criteria.

Renovating mixed gardens to grow fruit trees is being implemented by people in Bien Bach commune and is growing day by day.

Mr. Tran Van Doan, Secretary of Bien Bach Commune Party Committee, emphasized: “Because Bien Bach is a remote commune, it is difficult to attract investment, so developing the collective economy is the breakthrough. The government and organizations will act as a bridge to connect farmers with each other and with businesses, forming a large-scale, reputable raw material area, ensuring a stable supply. That is the foundation for the sustainable development of the commune economy.”

In addition to developing the collective economy, Bien Bach also focuses on building high-quality human resources, improving the capacity to apply science and technology, adapting to digital transformation and encouraging innovative thinking. Transport infrastructure and socio-economic infrastructure are also focused on investment, creating a solid foundation for the next step of development.

With clear orientation, specific goals and consensus of the government and people, we believe that this once difficult land will continue to transform strongly, becoming a bright spot in socio-economic development in the future.
