Duy Tan University (DTU) officially became the host of APacCHRIE 2028 - an important and practical international conference on academics in the field of Tourism & Hospitality.

Since the beginning of 2025, lecturers and researchers of Duy Tan University have also participated and contributed to many conferences associated with APacCHRIE (Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Education), Asia- Pacific Council on Education & Training, on Hotels, Restaurants and Internal Organizations. Specifically, the research team of Duy Tan University presented a report at the APacCHRIE 2025 Conference and previously won the Third Prize Best Paper Award at the APF2025 Forum.

Third Prize Best Paper Award at APF Forum-2025

The 21st Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students Research in Tourism - APF-2025 or APF2025 was held at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) from May 14 to 16, 2025, bringing together hundreds of young researchers and scholars from around the world. APF2025 is recognized as one of the leading research forums in the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to building a strong bridge between researchers and the professional community, expanding influence and promoting the sustainable development of the Tourism and Hospitality industry.

Duy Tan University's research team was awarded the Third Best Paper Award at the APF-2025 Forum

At the APF2025 Forum, there were 43 presentations by researchers from many countries and territories such as Korea, Hong Kong, China, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Laos, Vietnam, etc. As the only representative of Vietnam participating in the APF2025 Forum, 3 PhD students in Business Administration at Duy Tan University include:

• MSc. Dang Thanh Dung - Head of Marketing Department, Duy Tan University,

• MSc. Le Thi Khanh Ly - Lecturer of Vietnam-US Economics and Management Faculty (PSU), Duy Tan University

• MSc. Luu Thi Thu Huong, Head of the Vietnam-USA Management-Economics Faculty (PSU), Duy Tan University

with 2 instructors:

• Dr. Nguyen Cong Minh, Head of Postgraduate Department (Prof.), Duy Tan University,

• Dr. Nguyen Huy Tuan, Vice Principal of School of Economics & Business (SBE), Duy Tan University

presented 3 studies including:

• Impacts of Organizational Elements on Intrapreneurship inside Hotels Located in Da Nang City, Vietnam,

• Retaining Talent in Tourism: The Hidden Connection between Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention,

• The Determinants affecting AI Chatbots Adoption of the Elderly in Tourism and Hospitality.

MSc. Luu Thi Thu Huong (red ao dai) - Head of the Vietnam-USA Management and Economics Faculty (PSU), Duy Tan University, gave a speech and listened to the sharing of the Professional Council.

The Organizing Committee awarded 3 Best Paper Awards to the best research papers at the APF2025 Forum. The research team from Duy Tan University was awarded the Third Prize with the topic: The Determinants affecting AI Chatbots Adoption of the Elderly in Tourism and Hospitality.

This study applies the UTAUT 3 model to investigate the factors that influence the elderly to start using AI Chatbot. Through a survey of 210 Gen Z tourists traveling in Da Nang, analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software, the research team provides information on the factors that influence the choice of AI Chatbot such as:

• Easy to Use,

• Performance, and

• Social Influence.

In addition, the study also clarifies the role of:

• Personal innovation

in forming the habit of using AI Chatbots in practice. These findings have provided valuable insights, helping businesses in the Tourism and Hospitality sector improve to facilitate the use of AI Chatbots, thereby enhancing the experience for older travelers and contributing to improving the quality of services across the industry.

APF-2025 Forum brings together many young researchers and scholars from all over the world

Presenting the paper that won the Third Prize, MSc. Luu Thi Thu Huong - Dean of the Vietnam-US Economics and Management Faculty (PSU), Duy Tan University shared: “Participating and reporting at the APF2025 Forum is a valuable and meaningful experience for me and my research team. As a first-year PhD student, I am truly grateful to Duy Tan University for creating conditions for me to access the international academic environment, expanding connections with professors and PhD students from many countries. Each discussion session gives me new perspectives and strong inspiration to continue my scientific research. The Best Paper Award is truly a great honor, recognizing the efforts of the research team as well as the training quality and research orientation of Duy Tan University.”

Previously, in 2023, Hong Kong Polytechnic University cooperated with Duy Tan University to organize the 19th APF2023 Forum at Duy Tan University with the goal of improving training quality, connecting academic networks and contributing to the development orientation of the Asia-Pacific Tourism and Hospitality industry to become more professional and modern.

Immediately after attending the APF2025 Forum, the Duy Tan University research team continued to present a report at the APacCHRIE 2025 Conference, taking place from May 27-30, 2025 at the Marriott Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand. There were 234 presentations by scientists, lecturers, researchers, etc. under the theme of the Conference: “Transforming to the Future: Innovation, AI, and Regenerative Tourism and Hospitality”.

The research team of Duy Tan University presented the topic " The Effect of Trust and Satisfaction on Gen Z's AI Chatbots Adoption in Tourism and Hospitality". Based on survey data collected from 210 Gen Z tourists in Da Nang City and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software, the study provided detailed analysis on the level of influence of trust and satisfaction on the adoption of AI Chatbots in tourism and hospitality services of this group.

The APacCHRIE Conference is an annual event organized by APacCHRIE - the leading educational association in the field of Tourism and Hospitality in the Asia-Pacific region. After taking place in Thailand, the Conference will be held in the following years, specifically:

• APacCHRIE 2026 conference held in Japan,

• APacCHRIE 2027 Conference held in Macao,

• APacCHRIE 2028 conference held in Vietnam and at Duy Tan University.

Previously, in January 2025, Dr. Nguyen Cong Minh - Head of the Graduate School (GS), Duy Tan University was officially approved by APacCHRIE to become a member of the Association and represent Vietnam in this organization.
