Recently, the LEGO Group officially inaugurated its first factory in Vietnam, located in Binh Duong province. With a total investment of 1.3 billion USD, this is not only one of the largest factories of the LEGO Group, but also the first factory in the most environmentally sustainable design, using renewable energy. The project demonstrates LEGO's strong commitment to promoting sustainable development and implementing climate goals on a global scale.
Behind the success of an international green project is the active contribution of many domestic and foreign contractors. Among them, there is an important contribution from CEO Tran Thanh Phuong and ExtendMax Vietnam Co., Ltd. - the main contractor supporting LEGO in implementing the entire process of importing information technology (IT) equipment for the factory.
Accompanying from the first "bricks" of the factory
Ever since LEGO began building the factory, ExtendMax was selected as the main contractor to advise on the procedures for importing IT equipment. CEO Tran Thanh Phuong, as the founder and leading expert in import compliance and conformity certification, was directly responsible for consulting on important items. He and the ExtendMax team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the legal requirements for IT equipment with encryption features, radio transmission and reception, or related to network information security.

With more than 10 years of experience consulting for global technology corporations, Mr. Phuong personally analyzed and classified equipment, accurately identified the legal regulations that needed to be complied with, and built a suitable procedural roadmap to ensure that LEGO could import equipment on schedule. Not only acting as a consulting unit, ExtendMax also took on the role of a legal entity that received the import authorization, directly named the importer on the customs declaration and was legally responsible to the authorities throughout the entire import process. This was an important solution that helped LEGO - in the early stages when the legal entity in Vietnam did not have sufficient legal conditions - to be able to implement the project as planned, while ensuring that all procedures fully complied with Vietnamese law.
Vietnamese partner meets CSR standards in LEGO's global supply chain
LEGO is a global leader in applying rigorous corporate social responsibility (CSR) standards throughout its supply chain. All selected suppliers and partners must comply with the LEGO Supplier Code of Conduct – which covers principles of business ethics, occupational safety, fair working conditions, environmental protection and governance transparency.
As a partner in charge of legal advice and importing information technology equipment, ExtendMax not only ensures that LEGO meets global CSR standards but also maintains the level of professionalism, responsibility and transparency expected from LEGO – contributing to creating a compliant and sustainable operating ecosystem.

From national program to international award
It is no coincidence that ExtendMax was chosen as a partner of a large corporation like LEGO. Over the past 10 years, the company has persistently pursued the ESG (Environment – Social – Governance) strategy from its core consulting activities.
Since 2015, ExtendMax has been one of the first units to deploy energy label consulting services for electrical and electronic equipment within the framework of the National Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation (VNEEP). Hundreds of domestic and foreign enterprises have been supported by ExtendMax to complete energy labeling declarations to meet legal requirements and enhance product competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Phuong, ESG is not a communication slogan, but an operating philosophy closely linked to business expertise: “ESG is the way for us and our customers to create long-term value, through compliance with legal standards. For us, the energy label is not simply a procedure, but a 'green passport' to bring Vietnamese technology products to the global market in a sustainable way.”
In recognition of that journey, at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2025 held in Bangkok, Thailand, ExtendMax was honored in the Green Leadership category. This is one of the important categories of the award, honoring businesses with leading positive contributions to promoting green transformation in Asia.
