Connecting technology, market, supply chain
NEPCON Vietnam 2025 is the 18th international exhibition on equipment, testing technology, SMT surface welding and electronics supporting industries, which will take place from September 10-12 in Hanoi with the theme "Technology convergence - Elevating Vietnamese electronics".

NEPCON Vietnam is part of the international event series under the NEPCON brand, held periodically in many countries and territories such as Japan, Korea, Thailand and China.
In Vietnam, NEPCON is an annual electronics exhibition, with the support of specialized organizations, associations and international partner networks from more than 20 countries. The event aims to build a comprehensive platform, connecting technology, markets and supply chains between domestic enterprises and the regional electronics manufacturing community.
According to information from RX Tradex Vietnam, this year's exhibition is expected to gather more than 300 brands from Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, the United States, Germany, Thailand, Switzerland and Vietnam. Among them are some typical names such as Matfron Technology, JST Vina, Willas Electronic, Quectel Wireless Solutions, Hibex Vietnam, Brady, Carl Zeiss Vietnam, Daiwa Fine Chemicals, Altis, Xintechnology Electronics, Hongfa Electroacoustic... along with the participation of more than 10 national and regional pavilions with specialized products, services and technologies serving the entire electronics production chain.
Mr. Tran Hong Quan, Commercial Director of RX Tradex Vietnam - the organizer of the NEPCON Vietnam exhibition, said that in 2024, Vietnam's electronics exports will reach a record of 134.5 billion USD, of which phones, computers and components account for an overwhelming proportion. Vietnam is currently the 5th largest exporter of electronic equipment in the world and the 2nd largest exporter of phones and components.
In particular, the Government's issuance of the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, is a decisive step to promote internal resources from human resource training, improving localization capacity to being proactive in research and production of core technologies.
However, according to Mr. Tran Hong Quan, behind the impressive numbers are real challenges, that is, 100% of the value of phone exports comes from FDI but 80% of components still have to be imported; more than 90% of tier 1 suppliers are foreign enterprises; domestic R&D capabilities are limited, and Vietnam still mainly plays an assembly role.
"Those challenges also show that this is a pivotal moment for Vietnam to transform from an assembly center to a deep manufacturing country," Mr. Quan emphasized.
In this flow, Mr. Tran Hong Quan expects NEPCON Vietnam 2025, as the leading exhibition in the field of SMT, manufacturing equipment, testing technology and supporting industries for the electronics industry, to not only be an annual event but also a strategic meeting place, a place to gather pioneering technology and connect the business community.
At the same time, according to Mr. Tran Hong Quan, NEPCON Vietnam 2025 will shape trends and transform ideas into actions and specific business and cooperation opportunities.
Development orientation of electronics industry
On the eve of the NEPCON Vietnam 2025 exhibition, on July 2, the Manufacturing Industry Forum - M-TALKS took place in Hanoi. The event aims to open up a space for in-depth sharing on technology, human resources and future development orientation of the electronics industry.

Focusing on AI, automation and global supply chain integration, M-TALKS is a forum connecting experts, businesses and policy makers to share practical solutions, promote digital transformation and expand international markets for Vietnam's electronics manufacturing industry in the digital age.
At the forum, speakers, including Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong, Executive Committee Member, Vietnam Electronic Industry Association (VEIA), Vice President, Vietnam Association for Supporting Industries (VASI); Mr. David Bergman - Vice President of the International Electronic Association (IPC), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Vice Principal of the School of Electrical and Electronics, Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Duc Hoa, Deputy Director of the Business Center, VNPT Technology... shared in-depth analysis and practical solutions to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises.
In particular, the open discussion session at the forum focused on practical questions: How can Vietnamese enterprises overcome barriers when applying AI? What should the government do to attract high-quality FDI? How should universities innovate to keep up with the demand for technology human resources?
M-TALKS 2025 once again affirms the role of RX Tradex not only as an event organizer, but also as a real bridge between businesses, technology, and policies, promoting the steady development of Vietnam's electronics industry in the context of a rapidly changing global environment.
With a diverse and updated product portfolio, NEPCON Vietnam 2025 is expected to provide opportunities for domestic and foreign enterprises to access technology trends that are reshaping the global electronics industry. Especially in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technology being increasingly integrated into the production line.
