The beauty of Danang beach
According to many businesses operating for a long time in the city, Da Nang Bay, Son Tra Peninsula and Hai Van Mountain are valuable "treasures".
Da Nang Bay, with an average radius of 13km, water depth of 15-30m. On both sides are Hai Van and Son Tra mountains, creating an ideal wind-sheltered area (especially from March to September).
Son Tra Peninsula is a prime location of Da Nang in many aspects: national security, history and culture, natural geography, and environmental ecology.
In recent years, Son Tra peninsula has become a unique tourism product. Around the peninsula, there are many large and small beaches: Tien Sa beach, Da Den beach, Cat Vang beach, Mieu beach, Bac beach, Nom beach (mother), Nom beach (child), Rang beach, Xep beach, But beach... Here, many beaches are still very pristine, very suitable for developing eco-tourism.
The beaches along the Hai Van mountain slopes (on one side is the Hai Van pass mountains and forests, on the other side is Da Nang Bay) such as Sung Co beach, Xoan beach, Dua beach and Chinh beach (Van village)… are also full of charm.
Notably, in 2025, Son Cha Island (located at the foot of Hai Van Mountain) was received by Da Nang City from Hue City, contributing to the diversity and uniqueness of Da Nang's marine ecosystem.
Hon Son Cha, also known as Hon Chao or Ngoc Island, is located at the foot of Hai Van Pass; seen from afar, the island looks like an upside-down pan.
This place has a rich marine ecosystem: corals, seaweed, colorful fish, creating a magical and sparkling marine world. The island has fine white sand, clear sea water, ideal conditions for visitors to relax and explore the natural beauty of the island.
Need to develop commensurate with potential
According to records, some tourism units open tours to visit and experience diving on island routes, but not many.

“With many years of experience in the profession, I believe that whether or not Da Nang city’s waterway tourism develops depends on this sea and island route. It determines 70% of the market share for the development of waterway tourism. The city needs to have policies and plans in line with the project of developing inland waterway tourism until 2030, with a vision to 2045; forming a system of standard ports and wharves, adding high-speed boats, yachts, accommodation boats and developing services associated with rivers, seas and islands,” said Mr. Dang Hoa, owner of the Han Giang tourist boat.
From another perspective, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, General Director of Viet An Group Corporation, said that currently, the inland waterway tourism route CT15 - Hon Sup - Bai Nam - Bai Da has only 3 businesses operating, including Aphodite cruise ship of Viet An Group and 2 other high-speed boat companies including Le Hung and Sao Bien Xanh.
Mr. Tam said that the city needs to quickly complete mechanisms, policies, support and call for investment in waterway tourism products.
Specifically, expanding the CT15 wharf route to Hon Sup - Bai Nam - Bai Da and having a mechanism to call for investment in destinations on the route to increase tourism products, meeting the needs and tastes of customers; soon proposing to the Ministry of National Defense to reopen the route to the Bay (Han River to Hon Chao)...
According to Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, after the merger, the new Da Nang's sea and island tourism will have greater resources. First of all, it will be favorable for developing tours from the shore to the island such as Da Nang - Cu Lao Cham, tours - Co Co river route - which were stuck in administrative procedures when they belonged to two localities.
“For the development of Hon Son Cha (Pearl Island), it is necessary to have a comprehensive assessment of the project, the feasibility of calling for investors, implementing suitable tourism products, ensuring the safety of the destination... In the immediate future, it is possible to exploit day tours to explore and experience the natural beauty of this place,” Mr. Dung suggested.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism informed that in order to develop inland waterway tourism, a successful form of tourism in many countries and major cities around the world, the city issued a project to develop inland waterway tourism until 2030, with a vision to 2045, in which it is determined to build a system of standard ports and wharves, add high-speed boats, yachts, accommodation boats, and develop services associated with rivers.
Recently, the People's Committee of Da Nang city issued a plan to organize water recreation and entertainment activities in coastal areas and the Han River area, to be implemented from 2025 to 2030.
The plan aims to promote the advantages of marine resources and the Han River to develop diverse types of tourism products.
Through this, the city hopes to attract domestic and foreign tourists, serve the entertainment needs of local people, and at the same time actively contribute to local economic development.
