In the first 6 months of 2025, with intertwined advantages and difficulties, the Customs Branch of Region VI has focused on synchronously, drastic, promptly and effectively implementing practical solutions, thereby completing the key tasks set out (completing 52/71 key tasks, reaching 73.2%).
composed, as of June 30, 2025, the total import-export turnover of goods through the area managed by the Customs Branch of Region reached VI nearly 42.5 billion USD, an increase of 50.32% over the same period in 2024. Of which, the import-export turnover of all types through Lang Son province reached more than 41.7 billion USD, an increase of 39.22% over the same period in 2024.
Total tax from import and export activities of goods through the management of the Customs Branch of Region VI is 6,725.9 billion VND, an increase of 63% over the same period in 2024, reaching 94% of the target assigned at the beginning of the year, reaching 70% of the target. Of which, tax revenue from import and export goods through the border gates of Lang Son province is 5,396.8 billion VND, an increase of 53% over the same period in 2024, reaching 84% of the target assigned at the beginning of the year, reaching 64% of the target.
Regarding the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, by June 30, 2025, the Customs Branch of Region VI had detected, arrested and handled 1,128 cases (an increase of 7% over the same period in 2024); the value of goods was more than 53.5 billion VND (an increase of 134% over the same period in 2024).
At the conference, delegates discussed, evaluated and clarified the results achieved, difficulties and obstacles affecting customs management in the area; work to prevent and combat smuggling and trade fraud; proposed solutions to effectively perform the tasks of the Regional Customs Branch VI in the last months of 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciate the efforts in performing the tasks of the Customs Branch of Region VI in the past time, especially the efforts in performing the tasks of inspecting and supervising import and export goods; collecting import and export taxes; coordinated with relevant agencies to advise and propose the Provincial People's Committee to remove obstacles for businesses, notably the proposal to cut 16 fields of declaration information on the Digital Border Gate Platform, contributing to reducing procedures, saving time and costs for businesses.
Regarding the tasks for the last months of 2025, the Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee proposed: The Customs Branch of Region VI continues to direct its affiliated units to resolutely implement the resolutions and decisions of the Government, the Ministry of Finance , the Vietnam Customs Department, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council and the People's Committee of Lang Son province on the tasks and goals of socio-economic development and synchronously implement solutions, striving to collect state budget revenue to meet and exceed the assigned targets in 2025.
Inspection organization, Control the area well, develop solutions to fight smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and goods violating intellectual property rights; increase supervision and effective management of import and export goods, means of entry and exit, and manage warehouses and centralized goods inspection locations well; promote administrative procedure reform, create maximum favorable conditions for businesses in import and export activities; proactively grasp the situation, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses, and speed up customs clearance of goods.
Continue to implement discipline and administrative discipline well, enhance the responsibility of civil servants while performing public duties; promote training to improve professional capacity, awareness of personal responsibility, and self-consciousness in complying with the rules and regulations of the industry and unit.
The Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Customs Branch of Region VI continues to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation associated with assigned political tasks; effectively coordinate the implementation of the pilot project to build smart border gates.
