Experts from the Department of PVTM ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) exchanged and shared information at the training conference. |
Ms. Nguyen Hang Nga, Deputy Head of the Foreign Trade Remedies Handling Department, Trade Remedies Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade) informed: The context leading to the trend of trade remedy investigations with Vietnam is due to the recent strong increase in Vietnam's export of goods. The shift in supply after the COVID19 pandemic has many international corporations moving their production facilities to Vietnam. The localization rate depends on many imported materials, making countries suspicious of the true origin of exported products. Many countries subject to trade remedy taxes through third countries are also suspected of origin fraud...
In this situation, it is urgent to strengthen early warning capacity and proactively respond to PVTM incidents. The PVTM early warning system approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 316/QD-TTg dated March 1, 2020 is an effective support tool to help businesses improve their capacity to protect themselves in the international market. Specifically, not only for the US export market, to have PVTM measures, businesses need to regularly monitor the early warning system; check the origin of raw materials, clearly prove the origin. Businesses need to update information from import partners, related parties of importing countries about possible incidents; be cautious in export activities if they are on the list of warned items. In particular, be more cautious when exporting items that are regularly investigated for PVTM and partners that regularly investigate PVTM.
