Speaking at the Forum "Developing green investment and trade - Building a global ecological civilization together", Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the initiative to organize the 6th China International Import Expo.

In the context of the world's profound transformation with the strong development of science and technology and trends of digital transformation, green transformation, and development based on technology and knowledge, the Deputy Prime Minister said that this is a historic moment for the world to quickly innovate, transform the economy from brown to green and share three major cooperation orientations.

First, it is necessary to strengthen international cooperation and solidarity to build an ecosystem for green trade and investment. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that responding to global challenges requires global efforts and upholding multilateralism. Multilateral institutions such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), UNCTAD, UNDP, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) need to promote their role in strengthening connectivity and building global policies to promote green and sustainable trade and investment.

Second, the greening of investment and trade needs to ensure fairness. Countries need to act together to achieve common goals while taking into account differences in development levels, economic size and adaptability. Developed countries need to provide financial, technological and human resources support to developing countries to catch up with global green standards and norms.

Third , science and technology are the "vaccine" in the journey to respond to climate change and green transformation. The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that developed countries need to take the lead in inventing and developing science and technology to produce green products such as green hydrogen, low-emission, environmentally friendly storage, transportation and production infrastructure. International organizations need to contribute to ensuring the equitable allocation of resources and transfer of green technology from developed to developing countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that if developed and developing countries cooperate together, utilize and effectively exploit natural resources for energy conversion, they can turn the impossible into possible to work towards the highest goal of sustainable development and global ecological civilization.

"Vietnam is ready to join developed countries in establishing a cooperation model between developed and developing countries for green transformation," the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.

As one of three countries implementing the Just Energy Transition Agreement (JETP) with G7 countries and international partners, Vietnam promotes a green finance mobilization mechanism, in which government capital plays a leading role, directing private investment sources to realize the goals of emission reduction, green transition and sustainable development.
