On the morning of June 24, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held an online conference to review and adjust the 2025 power supply plan and develop the 2026 power supply plan; promote the progress of key power source and grid projects.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien chaired the conference. The Ha Tinh bridge point was operated by the leader of the Ha Tinh Department of Industry and Trade.

The report of the Electricity Authority shows that in the first 6 months of 2025, the total electricity output of the entire national system is estimated to reach 156.4 billion kWh, 3.04% higher than the same period in 2024, reaching 45% of the 2025 plan (347.5 billion kWh) approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Decision No. 3300/QD-BCT dated December 15, 2024. The main reason is that the national temperature is lower than the same period and previous years, and the load demand does not increase as much as forecasted at the beginning of the year.
In the first 6 months of the year, the largest consumption capacity of the national power system reached 51,672 MW (recorded on June 2, 2025), 5.7% higher than the same period in 2024 (in the North alone, the largest consumption capacity increased by 2,632 MW to 26,495 MW).
Electricity supply in the first 6 months of 2025 has successfully completed the set target, meeting the needs of socio-economic development thanks to detailed preparation from the planning for the whole year, each quarter and for the dry season, and monthly updates and adjustments in accordance with the practical situation. Electricity supply has met the actual demand for electricity, ensuring electricity supply during holidays, Tet, and major and important political and cultural events of the country.

To supply electricity in Ha Tinh, recently, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with relevant units to complete the planning for developing the power grid of Ha Tinh province according to Directive 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2025 of the Prime Minister on proactive solutions to ensure adequate electricity supply for production, business and people's lives during peak periods in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030.
The electricity supply process ensures safety and stability, basically serving well the requirements and tasks of socio-economic development, production, business and daily life needs of the people; indicators of electricity supply reliability all ensure the criteria and targets set by the electricity industry. Electricity usage capacity reaches 400 MW, an increase of 1.7% compared to the largest capacity in 2024; the average load growth rate from 2020 to present is 10.7%/year; expected from 2026 to be over 11%.
Ha Tinh Department of Industry and Trade has also done a good job of advising on electricity supply solutions; presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies and units to monitor, urge and guide investors to implement, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in power source and grid projects in the area to speed up the implementation progress, promptly complete and put the project into commercial operation according to the set plan.
In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ha Tinh proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade direct the Vietnam Electricity Group to consider adding to the investment portfolio of the 500kV transmission line connecting the Vung Ang III LNG Power Plant in sync with the progress of the plant project, to be completed before 2030 according to the approved adjusted Power Plan VIII.
At the conference, representatives of localities and investors updated the progress of project implementation and focused on discussing the difficulties being encountered, making proposals to remove difficulties, promptly implementing source and transmission projects approved according to Power Plan VIII...
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized: ensuring national energy security and sufficient electricity supply is one of the fundamental and decisive factors for the successful implementation of the country's socio-economic growth targets. Therefore, relevant units directed to strengthen inspection and supervision of the operation and urge the implementation of power source projects, and best prepare for power generation during peak months.
Regarding power source projects, relevant units need to focus on directing and accelerating the progress of project implementation, especially important national projects and key energy sector projects that are included in the planning.
The Minister of Industry and Trade requested investors to pay attention to investing in the transmission system and calculate to have a synchronous implementation plan, contributing to ensuring safe and stable electricity supply in the coming time.
