It is forecasted that this low pressure area is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, moving slowly in the West Northwest direction.
Due to the influence of the above dangerous weather patterns, many sea areas are experiencing scattered showers and thunderstorms, including: Bac Bo Gulf, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai , the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa sea area) and the East of the central East Sea area. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind level 6 - 7, waves over 2m high, posing a danger to ships operating at sea.
In particular, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau recorded strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, rough seas with waves 2 - 3m high. The northeastern sea area of the North East Sea was also affected by strong winds of level 5, later increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough seas. Authorities advised fishermen and crew members to proactively monitor information and limit going to sea during dangerous times.
On land, there will be localized heavy rain accompanied by dangerous weather phenomena. During the day and night of July 4, the Northwest region, from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai, will have showers and thunderstorms, some places will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 15 - 40mm, some places will have over 90mm, rain will be concentrated in the evening and at night.
In the Central Highlands and the South, this afternoon and tonight there will also be scattered showers and thunderstorms, some places will have heavy rain. Rainfall is generally from 10 - 30mm, locally over 70mm. During thunderstorms, people need to be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, which can cause damage to people and property.
In the face of prolonged heavy rain, meteorological experts warn of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in mountainous areas, steep slopes and localized flooding in low-lying areas in the North Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions. The risk level of natural disasters caused by tornadoes, lightning and hail is determined at level 1 - the lowest level, but vigilance is still needed because natural disasters often develop quickly and unexpectedly.
