This is a concrete step, demonstrating the province's determination in taking care of social security , especially supporting housing for poor households and policy families.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Ca Mau Province will be headed by Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee will assume the role of Deputy Heads of the Committee, in which Comrade Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, will hold the position of Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai took on the additional task of Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Ca Mau Province.

The Steering Committee also includes members of the Provincial Standing Committee in charge of the Party Committees of communes and wards; 15 comrades who are key officials of the province; leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam, Regional XV branch; and especially the Party Committee Secretaries of communes and wards, who are well aware of the actual situation at the grassroots level.

The Secretariat, assisting the Steering Committee, consists of 10 members, headed by Comrade Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. To ensure timely and effective information and communication work, Comrade Ngo Minh Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ca Mau Newspaper, Radio and Television, has been appointed as a member of the Secretariat, assisting the Steering Committee.

The core task of the Steering Committee is to assist the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in directing and implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses under the direction of the Prime Minister . At the same time, the Steering Committee will also develop social housing and implement housing support policies for policy beneficiaries in the province under the direction of the Central Party Secretariat.

In Decision No. 08-QD/TU, effective from July 9, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also requested the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee to lead the Provincial People's Committee to appoint a standing agency to act as the focal point to help manage the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and develop social housing in Ca Mau.

Comrade Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the construction of houses for people with revolutionary contributions.

Ca Mau province has set a specific and challenging goal: to complete the construction of houses for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' families before July 27, 2025 and to complete the construction of houses for poor and near-poor households before August 20, 2025.

Previously, implementing the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households and people with revolutionary contributions, the whole province of Ca Mau completed supporting 4,400 houses , of which 3,463 were newly built and 937 were repaired, with a total implementation cost of nearly 236 billion VND.

To promote this humanitarian and meaningful work, the province will establish inspection teams to supervise a number of units and localities in implementing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, ensuring publicity, transparency, quality housing, completion on schedule according to the set plan and avoiding loss and negativity.

Recently, the Department of Finance has advised the Provincial People's Committee to temporarily borrow 50% of the remaining funds to transfer to the commune level to build houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

Along with that, the province has directed the consolidation of the Commune-level Steering Committee to direct, inspect, and urge the construction and completion of housing for poor and near-poor households, people with revolutionary contributions, and relatives of martyrs to ensure the set schedule.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has also proposed that the Ministry of Finance promptly allocate capital from the central budget to support the construction and repair of houses for households with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives who are beneficiaries so that the locality can repay the budget according to regulations.
