Coach Shin Tae-yong was fired on January 6, just half a year after renewing his contract with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). Indonesian media speculated that the reason for the Korean coach's loss of his job was due to conflicts with a group of key players of European origin.
After firing coach Shin Tae-yong, the Indonesian Football Federation must compensate the entire salary of this military commander according to the contract until the end of June 2027. Billionaire Erick Thohir said that this compensation amount was taken from the budget to buy a building.
