With its intricate river system, beautiful landscapes and unique garden culture, Ben Tre has great potential to develop river tourism - a type of tourism that is increasingly popular with domestic and foreign tourists.

Unique experiences such as rowing a boat through small canals, enjoying traditional music on a boat, or visiting traditional craft villages associated with coconut trees... not only bring a feeling of relaxation and closeness to nature but also help visitors understand more deeply about the life and people of the Coconut Land.

Through sustainable planning, investment in green tourism infrastructure and improvement of service quality, Ben Tre is gradually turning its river potential into a strength, contributing to making tourism a spearhead economic sector.

In 2024, Ben Tre will welcome over 2 million tourists, including over 600,000 international visitors. Total revenue of the industry will reach about 2,500 billion VND. These are positive numbers, showing that tourism is gradually becoming a key economic sector of the province.

Typical destinations such as Con Phung, Con Qui, Con Ba Tu, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Memorial Site, Cho Lach Ornamental Flower Village, etc. are attracting more and more tourists thanks to community tourism products associated with agriculture, ecology and indigenous culture. The province also implements the strategy of “Ben Tre Green Tourism”, focusing on nature conservation, reducing plastic waste and raising public awareness.

Accelerate digital transformation and promote brands

To keep up with the new trend, Ben Tre promotes digital transformation in tourism, builds digital tourism maps, applies virtual reality technology, and QR codes to introduce destinations. At the same time, Ben Tre also actively promotes tourism brands through major events, connecting with key markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho... In addition to industrial infrastructure, the province has invested heavily in developing a system of trade centers, supermarkets, wholesale markets and local e-commerce platforms. In particular, Ben Tre has effectively implemented the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program, contributing to creating stable output for agricultural products, traditional handicrafts and local specialties.

Ben Tre is committed to creating a favorable investment environment through administrative reform, applying digital government and preferential support policies for investors. The province's online public service portal operates effectively, helping businesses easily access planning information, investment procedures, bidding, land lease, etc.

Ben Tre also regularly maintains dialogues and meetings with investors and businesses to promptly resolve difficulties and grasp the development needs of each specific industry.

With the goal of sustainable development, Ben Tre pays special attention to training highly skilled human resources, promoting cooperation with universities, colleges and enterprises in vocational training, technology transfer and creative startups. At the same time, it focuses on training a team of cadres, civil servants and public employees with sufficient qualities and capacity to meet the requirements of modern administration.

In the coming time, the merger of Ben Tre - Tra Vinh and Vinh Long promises to open up a large space for economic development, creating advantages in terms of geographical location, transport infrastructure, seaports and labor resources. This merger helps to form a closely linked economic zone, facilitating investment attraction in the fields of processing industry, high-tech agriculture, tourism and logistics. At the same time, this is an opportunity to optimize management, develop synchronous infrastructure and enhance the competitiveness of the whole region in the process of sustainable development.
