On November 28, the Investigation Police Agency of Tan An City Police ( Long An Province) initiated a case, prosecuted and temporarily detained two drivers, Phuong Ho Nhat Linh and Luu Cong Thanh, for disturbing public order while driving a truck, squeezing and chasing each other on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway.
Previously, on October 17, a clip appeared on social media recording the scene of a container truck with license plate 50H-166.22 swerving and squeezing to prevent a tractor with license plate 98H-026.64 from passing.

According to the clip, both drivers were swerving, chasing, and squeezing each other for a long stretch on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway. Meanwhile, the cars behind them could not move through.
After the clip went viral, public opinion was outraged by the two drivers’ disregard for the law and other people’s lives. Many people also requested that the authorities take action soon and consider strictly handling the above behavior to deter and ensure safety for vehicles traveling on the highway.
According to Highway Patrol and Traffic Control Team No. 7, through camera extraction and verification, the incident occurred on the highway section through Loi Binh Nhon commune, Tan An city, Long An province, in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to the West.
Through investigation, Tan An City Police identified the two drivers of the two vehicles as Phuong Ho Nhat Linh (44 years old, residing in Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province) driving the container truck with license plate 50H-166.22, and Luu Cong Thanh (31 years old, residing in Tinh Bien, An Giang province) driving the container truck with license plate 98H-026.64.
Highway 7 Traffic Patrol Team has completed the case file and transferred it to the Tan An City Police Investigation Agency.
