On the evening of October 17, the Criminal Police Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province Police took the statement of Nguyen Thanh Hung (40 years old, residing in Phuoc Tinh Commune, Long Dien District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau) to investigate and clarify the suspect's behavior of stabbing someone to death in Vung Tau City and injuring two other victims in Long Dien District.
Suspect Nguyen Thanh Hung was arrested.
According to initial information, on the morning of the same day (October 17), Hung stabbed two people with a knife, causing injuries in Phuoc Tinh commune (Long Dien district), then fled.
While the Phuoc Tinh Commune Police and Long Dien District Police were chasing Hung, the suspect rode a motorbike through Vung Tau City and stabbed another victim to death.
Accordingly, at around 1:00 p.m. the same day, Hung went to alley 34 Bac Son, Ward 11 (Vung Tau City) and saw Mr. H. (35 years old, living in Long Dien District) drinking with a group of friends.
Hung stopped and went to where Mr. H. was sitting and stabbed the victim to death. After committing the crime, Hung fled.
Ward 11 Police, Vung Tau City Police and the Criminal Police Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province Police investigated, examined the scene and arrested Hung.
On the evening of October 17, Vung Tau City Police approached Hung at a motel in the area and arrested the suspect, then handed him over to the Criminal Police Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province Police.
According to Long Dien District Police, Hung is a drug addict who has just completed rehabilitation and returned to his hometown since August 2023. Currently, the Investigation Police Agency is taking statements from the suspect and investigating the cause of the incident.
