Public opinion in Nghe An is abuzz with the news that Nam Dan 2 High School (Nam Dan district, Nghe An) posted an announcement that the second round of admission scores to the school is 2.5 points (3 subjects).

According to the admission announcement of Nam Dan 2 High School, students who achieve a total admission score of 2.5 or higher - including priority and incentive points - will be admitted to grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year. Previously, Nam Dan 2 High School announced the standard score (first round) for grade 10 as 9.5 points (3 subjects).
This has caused many people to worry about the quality of teaching in Nam Dan district because this district is a plain district, only 25km from Vinh city. In addition, people are also worried about the quality of the 10th grade students at Nam Dan 2 High School.

Speaking to VTC News, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, confirmed that Nam Dan 2 High School announced the admission score for grade 10 (2nd round) as 2.5 points (3 subjects). However, there was only 1 student with 2.5 points.
Responding to the press, Mr. Pham Xuan Phu - Principal of Nam Dan 2 High School said that the second round's benchmark score was low because after candidates adjusted their wishes, the number of applications registered in the first round did not meet the quota. The school was assigned 450 quotas but is currently short of about 40 students, so it is forced to recruit additional students. According to regulations, candidates who have graduated from junior high school and do not have a failing score (0 points) in the 10th grade entrance exam will be considered for admission.
In the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Nghe An candidates will take three subjects: math, literature and foreign language (English) on June 3 and 4. This year, Nghe An province has more than 39,000 candidates registering to take the exam at 69 public schools across the province.
Among the announced schools, Huynh Thuc Khang High School (formerly Vinh city) has the highest first round benchmark score in the province with 24.25 points.
