On July 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially launched three important systems: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Electronic Information Portal, the Document Management and Administration System, and the Ministry-level Data Sharing Integration Platform (LGSP). These are important "digital links" in the Ministry's e-Government Construction Project, developed by VNPT Group.

Three digital platforms, one goal: Modernizing governance and service

The three systems were put into synchronous operation, aiming to increase operational efficiency, reform administrative procedures, and promote interaction between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and people and organizations at home and abroad.

The new Electronic Information Portal at https://mofa.gov.vn/ is the official and modern information channel of the Ministry, providing full information on foreign policies and leadership activities, while integrating essential public services such as consular legalization, licensing of foreign organizations, etc., helping people and businesses access information quickly, transparently and conveniently.

The Document Management and Operation System is the “backbone” for internal operations, fully integrating document management, file processing, work coordination and monitoring and direction functions. The system also integrates digital signatures, allowing leaders to sign and approve documents anytime, anywhere via Internet-connected devices, thereby building a flexible and modern digital working environment that meets the specific requirements of the Diplomatic sector.

In addition, the LGSP platform connects and shares data between information systems and databases of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and connects with other ministries and sectors through the National Data Integration and Sharing Platform (NDXP) and the National Data Exchange Platform (VDXP). This is a core tool to ensure data consistency, synchronization and security in the process of building e-Government.

Affirming determination for comprehensive digital transformation

The simultaneous deployment of three digital platforms not only marks an important step forward in modernizing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' information technology infrastructure, but also clearly demonstrates the commitment to implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politics and Resolution No. 03/NQ-CP of the Government on promoting national digital transformation.

Since August 2023, the Ministry has approved the e-Government Project for the 2021-2025 period with the goal of forming a comprehensive digital ecosystem. In addition to the newly launched platforms, the Ministry is also deploying many other systems such as an internal information management platform integrating diplomatic knowledge management, gradually applying new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data to form a "digital desk" for officials and civil servants. In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also launched the "Digital Literacy for the People" Movement to equip all officials with digital skills.

To date, the Ministry has announced 25/28 simplified administrative procedures, provided 12 high-level online public services and enhanced data connectivity with government agencies.

VNPT – Strategic partner in building Digital Diplomacy

As the leading information technology and telecommunications group in Vietnam, VNPT has experience in deploying a series of national digital platforms such as the National Document Interconnection Axis, the National Public Service Portal, the Government Reporting Information System, the National Population Database System, etc. VNPT is also accompanying many localities across the country in building e-government, digital government and smart cities.

In the field of diplomacy, VNPT is a strategic partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. VNPT has worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to build and deploy advanced and solid digital transformation solutions and platforms - contributing to the realization of the goal of a digital nation. In addition to developing software, VNPT also deploys server room infrastructure - ensuring continuous, stable and highly secure operation for the Ministry's specialized software systems.

The three newly launched systems are clear evidence of the effective cooperation between the two units. VNPT pledges to continue to closely accompany, contributing to the building of a modern, professional, and comprehensively digitized Ministry of Foreign Affairs, making Vietnamese diplomacy a bright spot on the national digital transformation map.
