On June 22, Quang Xuong Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province) said that it had identified the driver and the vehicle driving in the wrong direction on National Highway 1A.
Previously, on June 21, a clip was circulated on Facebook recording a "tiger pounce" (Howoo) car driving in the wrong direction on National Highway 1A. The clip received many shares and comments condemning the driver's disregard for the law and other people's lives.
After verification, Quang Xuong Traffic Police Station determined that the "tiger pounce" car running in the opposite direction on National Highway 1A had license plate 36C-282.94, driven by Dinh Van Quan (born in 1972, residing in But Son town, Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province).
Immediately afterwards, driver Dinh Van Quan was invited to work. This driver admitted to driving in the wrong direction on National Highway 1A at around 8:00 a.m. on June 19, through Ha Trung town (Ha Trung district).
Based on the provisions of the law, the Quang Xuong Traffic Police Department fined driver Dinh Van Quan 5 million VND and revoked his driver's license for 3 months.
