Accordingly, after the Project Launch Ceremony on February 28, the project has implemented activities according to the plan. Typically, the project has supported the former Ha Giang province to prepare the application for the UN Tourism Best Tourist Village, supported the organization of the Green Tourism Workshop in Quang Nam, implemented the Swiss high-level hotel management training program in Vietnam, conducted field surveys to deploy sustainable tourism destinations in Khun village (former Ha Giang), Sa Dec (former Dong Thap), Hoi An (former Quang Nam) and researched, evaluated, and completed the Quang Nam Green Tourism Certification Set according to international standards...
In early July, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration and the ST4SD Project successfully organized a training course on sustainable tourism for officials and civil servants of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, representatives of units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province, the Tourism Association and tourism enterprises of Tuyen Quang province; representatives of the Management Board of some typical and potential Community Cultural Tourism Villages in Tuyen Quang province.
After listening to the Project staff's report and opinions from units under the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu acknowledged the results of the Project implementing 3 components according to the roadmap and set goals, with the participation and coordination of specialized units of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, receiving positive feedback from localities.

Regarding the planning orientation in the coming time, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu emphasized that the Project needs to prepare best for the coordination of the organization of the "Annual Forum on Green Tourism". This is a highly specialized activity, updating knowledge, technology as well as the trends of the times on green tourism. Regarding the proposal to establish the Best Tourism Village Network, the Deputy Director suggested that it is necessary to study and adjust it to the conditions of Vietnam and in accordance with the UNTourism Best Tourism Village Network. Continue to support the trainees who have just received certificates at the recent training course to become active members in sustainable tourism development.
Regarding human resource training, the Deputy Director suggested that on the basis of the Swiss program, it is necessary to design a training program suitable for Vietnam, bringing practical results to tourism training institutions and students, contributing to improving the quality of human resources in the tourism industry. Along with that, closely coordinate with specialized units of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to support the construction of sustainable tourism destinations; research and develop a set of national green tourism label criteria; focus on promoting communication on the activities and results of the Project implementation; effectively inform and regularly report to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on the Project's activities.
