With its wild beauty and calm water surface like a mirror reflecting the rocky mountains, Van Long lagoon has become an ideal destination for those who want to find a peaceful place, separate from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Unlike Trang An or Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Van Long lagoon is the largest wetland nature reserve in the Northern Delta with an area of over 3,500 hectares, put into tourism exploitation since 1998.
Van Long lagoon is surrounded by a solid dike system.
The reason why Van Long lagoon is called “a bay without waves” is because the water surface in the lagoon has no big waves or engine noise. The water surface here is as calm as a giant mirror reflecting the sky, clouds, and mountains.

Tourists capture moments in front of the poetic scenery of Van Long lagoon.
Ms. Le Thi Trang, a tourist from Hanoi visiting Van Long lagoon for the first time, shared that sitting on a small bamboo boat, drifting quietly in the middle of the clear blue lagoon, felt like touching a rare peaceful realm between heaven and earth.
“Here, I feel like I am seeing nature in its purest state. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful and very peaceful, something that not every place has,” Trang shared.

Rare ecological beauty
Van Long Lagoon is also home to a unique ecosystem that is rare in the Northern Delta. It is the “home” of many rare species of flora and fauna and a stopover for many migratory birds in winter.
From November to April of the following year, flocks of birds from the North fly here to nest and forage, creating a vivid picture between the mountains and the calm water. Tourists who love wild nature certainly cannot miss this time.

In addition, the lagoon also has white-cheeked langurs scattered in rocky areas such as Cat Ba, Meo Cao, near Bong cave, Ca cave... This is the rarest primate species in the world .
“The langurs are very smart and sensitive. They come out when the lagoon is quiet. There are groups of foreign tourists who come for a whole week just to see the langurs. Here, we consider the langurs a treasure from heaven.
Sometimes we don't see them for a whole month, so when they appear, we are very happy, as if it is the first time we see them," said a woman rowing the boat as she steered the boat between two cliffs.

Van Long Lagoon also fascinates visitors with its magical limestone cave system. Sitting on a boat through the mountains, visitors will be taken to places whose names make them curious: Ca Cave, Bong Cave, Rua Cave, Chanh Cave...
Each cave is a miniature world, with flickering light, sparkling stalactites, and a cool, quiet space, as if you were lost underground.
