Vietnam will invest in 2-4 more international telecommunication cables

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed Decision No. 36/QD-TTg on planning information and communications infrastructure for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

In particular, the plan states that by 2025, Vietnam will be among the top 20 countries in the world in converting the internet to IPv6; strive to have 100% of high-tech zones, concentrated information technology zones, research, development and innovation centers able to access the internet with a minimum speed of 1Gb/s by 2025; deploy and invest in 2-4 more international telecommunications cables.

Also according to this plan, by 2025, Vietnam will form and deploy national data centers as infrastructure to serve national databases and other shared databases as prescribed by law; form at least 3 national multi-purpose data center clusters; form regional multi-purpose data center clusters. 100% of government agencies will use cloud computing ecosystems to serve digital government and 70% of Vietnamese enterprises will use cloud computing services provided by domestic enterprises.

The Government also stated that the development of the information technology industry is based on digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, internet of things... The digital technology industry develops rapidly and sustainably with a focus on shifting from assembly and processing to creating electronic, telecommunications, and information technology products and services Made in Vietnam, contributing to creating a new development space for the country...
