At this time, contractors are speeding up the construction of bridges, tunnels and weak soil treatment sections. However, the total value of implementation has only reached more than 45% of the 16,578 billion VND of the main packages.
After organizing construction in “3 shifts, 4 teams” to compensate for the slow progress and applying technical solutions to shorten construction time to speed up the project, the goal is to open 14.7km of elevated road in Thu Duc area and open 32.6km of technical traffic in Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Binh Chanh areas by the end of this year.
However, while the amount of sand used for filling the foundation has been increased by localities, the amount of sand supplied this year has reached 4.3 million m3; the quarries in Dong Nai and Binh Duong have also prepared enough stone according to the project's needs, by the end of the first 6 months of the year, the disbursement of public investment capital assigned to the project this year has only reached more than 31%. Meanwhile, the target for the above section set by Ho Chi Minh City is to open to traffic on June 30, 2026.

At the section running through Binh Duong area, the goal is to open the main route by the end of this year and complete it by April 30, 2026. The construction package of Binh Chuan intersection will be completed by September. Binh Goi Bridge across the Saigon River connecting Cu Chi and Thuan An, which started construction at the end of 2023, has also been closed. For Tan Van intersection, after completing the site clearance, the contractor is also rushing to deploy.
In Dong Nai, Nhon Trach Bridge, part 1A of the Ring Road 3 project, with a length of over 8.2km, including 6.3km passing through Dong Nai province and over 1.9km passing through Ho Chi Minh City, has been closed and opened to traffic. The project starts at the intersection with Provincial Road 25B in Dong Nai and ends at the intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway in Thu Duc area of Ho Chi Minh City. According to the plan, the section connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and Ring Road 3 will be completed by June 30. However, the progress has been delayed until September.
When this route is connected, people from Ho Chi Minh City can go through Nhon Trach bridge to get to Dong Nai 's 25B road, from there to Long Thanh airport. This will be a parallel route to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, helping to reduce the load on this expressway and at the same time open up a new direction for the area.
Therefore, initially, Ho Chi Minh City planned to open the 14.7km elevated section of Ring Road 3 in Thu Duc area to traffic by the end of this year. Then, the City People's Committee proposed to speed up the progress to put this elevated section into operation in 2025. However, the goal of opening the elevated section of Ring Road 3, stretching from Nhon Trach Bridge to Tan Van intersection in Ho Chi Minh City, to traffic by the end of the year and opening the entire route on June 26, 2026 is facing many difficulties as the total value of implementation has not yet reached half after many years of construction.
