According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Lam Son commune, at around 4:45 p.m. on September 17, MN (8 years old, female) and SLY Ph (6 years old, male), both students of Lam Son B Primary School (Lam Son), were cycling from Lam Quy village to Gon 1 village when they reached the spillway of Lam Quy village and were swept away by the water.
After receiving the news, the People's Committee of Lam Son Commune and the Command Board for Natural Disaster Prevention and Rescue of the Commune organized a search. However, at that time there was heavy rain, the flood water came quickly and strongly, so the search for the victims encountered many difficulties. At about 9:30 p.m. the same day, the rescue forces found the bodies of the two children, about 2 km from the spillway.

* Also on the afternoon of September 17, in Lap La village (Lam Son), Ms. Le Thi M, born in 1975, was riding her motorbike on her way home from work across a stream when the flood swept her and her motorbike away. After a search effort, at 11:00 a.m. on September 18, authorities found the victim's body.
In order to support the victims who died due to the flood, the People's Committee of Lam Son commune came to share and encourage the families of the victims; coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ninh Son district to mobilize donations to help the families with funerals.
It is forecasted that in the next 2-3 days, there will continue to be heavy rain in the area. People need to take proactive precautions and absolutely not cross streams, dams, or overflowing culverts when the water level rises, which can endanger lives.
