The only "dinosaur" Hummer H1 Alpha in Vietnam is on the used car market
In Vietnam there is only one Hummer H1 and the value of the car is not disclosed. Recently, the car has appeared on the used car market.

This Hummer H1 for sale in Vietnam is the civilian version of the M998 Humvee military vehicle, developed by AM General in the early 1980s. The vehicle was originally designed specifically for the US military. After the Gulf War, AM General began commercial production of the H1 in 1992. The vehicle was assembled at its plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, and continued production until 2006. Meanwhile, the military version of the Humvee was still being built until 2018.
The Hummer H1 comes in a variety of body styles, including a soft-top, wagon, and four-door pickup. Rarer versions, such as a two-door pickup or a four-door convertible, were also developed based on military prototypes. In Vietnam, the unique Hummer H1 Alpha, a pickup version, was once owned by a car enthusiast group in Hanoi . This group also owned a unique modified Hummer H2. Once “hidden”, the car has now reappeared on the used car market. The H1 Alpha has a black exterior, standing out with its square, muscular and military design. The car is equipped with 17-inch rims combined with large 395/135 off-road tires, providing stable operation on complex terrain. On the roof of the car is a row of LED auxiliary lights, supporting the driver when moving in low light conditions.
Notably, the vehicle does not have side steps, a detail commonly found in large pickup trucks. According to the previous owner, the removal of the side steps was to optimize ground clearance and avoid hindering the vehicle's off-road capabilities. With a ground clearance of up to 406 mm and the ability to wade through water 762 mm deep, the Hummer H1 Alpha is considered one of the best off-road pickups ever produced. The interior of the car has a classic and military style, from the clock displaying technical parameters to the control button system. The steering wheel of this unique pickup truck in Vietnam is also very simple and does not have integrated features. The owner of this Hummer H1 Alpha has modified some interior details such as the entertainment system, navigation system, etc. The car's seats are electrically adjusted instead of mechanically adjusted like the rearview mirrors. The car also has an additional area for wine as well as accompanying drinking glasses. Powering the vehicle is a 6.6L Duramax V8 turbocharged diesel engine, producing 300 horsepower and a maximum torque of 705 Nm. Power is transmitted through a 5-speed automatic transmission, ensuring flexible operation on a variety of terrains, from urban to mountainous, desert or flooded areas.
The Hummer H1 Alpha has a starting price in the US market of 83,330 USD (about 1.93 billion VND) and the highest is 225,138 USD (about 5.2 billion VND) with the full-option version. It is not clear how much this unique pickup truck costs on the Hanoi used car market. The appearance of the only Hummer H1 Alpha in Vietnam on the used car market is considered a rare event in the car collector community. According to many speculations, an original H1 Alpha in good technical condition can cost up to a billion VND, not only because of its technical factors but also because of its historical value and rarity.
