DTO - On the afternoon of August 18, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a conference to summarize the 2022-2023 school year and deploy tasks for the 2023-2024 school year in a combination of direct and online formats with 63 connecting points nationwide. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son chaired the conference at the Hanoi connection point. According to the report of the Ministry of Education and Training, in the 2022 - 2023 school year, the education and training sector will strive to implement key tasks; continue to focus on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; strengthen digital transformation, administrative reform, and application of information technology in teaching and learning. The Ministry of Education and Training guides provinces and cities to implement the 2018 General Education Program for grades 3, 7, and 10; approve the list of textbooks and local educational materials; organize the 2023 High School Graduation Exam seriously and safely... The results of the 2022 - 2023 school year, the rate of mobilizing preschool children to go to school reached 70.4% (an increase of 4.6% compared to the 2021 - 2022 school year); mobilizing primary school students of the right age to go to school reached 99.7%; 90.7% of students completed the lower secondary education program; the national high school graduation rate reached 98.88%. In addition, there are 5 universities listed in the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings and 9 higher education institutions listed in the Times Higher Education Influence Rankings...

In the 2023-2024 school year, with the theme "Solidarity, discipline, creativity, continuing to innovate in depth, improving the quality of education and training", the education and training sector has set out 12 key tasks. At the conference, representatives of provinces and cities reported on some outstanding results and difficulties and limitations in implementing the tasks of the 2022-2023 school year plan in their localities. At the same time, they recommended that the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education and Training and relevant ministries, departments and branches remove difficulties in the shortage of teachers; increase remuneration for officials and teachers in the education and training sector, especially in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas; promptly implement the policy of digitizing textbooks and issuing instructions on using the electronic textbook data warehouse...

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and highly appreciated the achievements of the education and training sector in the 2022-2023 school year. In the 2023-2024 school year, the Prime Minister requested the education and training sector to coordinate with ministries, departments and central agencies to review, supplement institutions, and perfect the legal corridor to implement fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training according to the requirements of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 4, 2013 of the 11th Central Executive Committee; continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of State management of education and training.
