Vinh Binh Commune (Dong Thap Province) was established on the basis of merging 3 units: Thanh Nhut Commune, Thanh Tri Commune and Vinh Binh Town. With new development space and open space, Vinh Binh Commune has been gradually affirming its position as a politically strong administrative unit, rich in economic development potential, and stable in national defense and security.

IMPRESSIVE RESULTS AFTER 5 YEARS OF EFFORT

The 2020 - 2025 term took place in a context of many advantages and challenges, especially the impact of the pandemic and climate change. However, under the leadership of the Party, especially the District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Go Cong Tay district in the past, together with the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of the communes and towns that were the predecessors of Vinh Binh commune, the socio -economic situation continued to develop with most of the main targets being achieved and exceeded.

Specifically, the economy continued to recover after the Covid-19 pandemic and developed quite well. The production value of the crop, livestock and aquaculture sectors reached 113.5%; local budget revenue reached 120%. Education and vocational training were focused on, the rate of mobilizing students to attend classes at all levels reached 100%; social security policies were promptly taken care of, the rate of people participating in health insurance reached over 98%...

The Party Committee of the commune has completed the task of building a civilized urban area for Vinh Binh town by 2024; Thanh Nhut commune has maintained and improved the quality of 19 criteria for a commune meeting advanced new rural standards; Thanh Tri commune has maintained and maintained 19 criteria for a commune meeting new rural standards. Effectively implementing social security policies, reducing the poverty rate from 1.55% to 0.48% (by the end of 2024), it is expected that by the end of 2025, the whole commune will have 40 poor households (accounting for 0.4%).

Vinh Binh commune focuses on building and investing in traffic infrastructure; during the term, over 100 basic construction projects were implemented with a total cost of nearly 294 billion VND. In addition, the locality has maintained and upgraded 26 rural traffic routes, with a cost of over 875 million VND; replacing and repainting traffic signs with a cost of nearly 69 million VND. Rural traffic works basically meet the needs of travel, goods circulation, production development, trade, services, etc.

Political security, social order and safety continue to be maintained, people's quality of life is improved. The political system is consolidated, the quality of cadres is increasingly improved; the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees and organizations at all levels have many positive changes. The quality of management and administration of the government, the activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations are improved...

Entering the 2025 - 2030 term, Vinh Binh commune sets many breakthrough development goals. According to comrade Pham Chi Trung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, with new development space and open space, the Commune Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term sets the following goals: Building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; promoting the role of the People's strength in building and developing the local economy; focusing on effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality, promoting agricultural restructuring to adapt to climate change, shifting the structure and developing agriculture towards green agriculture, organic agriculture, applying high technology; implementing the construction of a synchronous infrastructure system, especially regional projects and works.

The commune also proposed 3 breakthroughs: First, focusing on restructuring the agricultural sector towards green agriculture, organic agriculture associated with new rural construction; focusing on building concentrated raw material areas; replicating the ancient bonsai mai nu village model, the 1 million hectare high-quality rice model...; promoting the application of science and technology in agricultural production; expanding the linkage chain and consuming local products.

Recently, speaking at the 1st Congress of Delegates, term 2025 - 2030, comrade Phan Van Thuong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, said that entering the term 2025 - 2030, in the context of many changes, opportunities and challenges are intertwined.
