Heavy rains cause flooding and isolation in many areas

QTO - The Standing Office of the Provincial Civil Defense Command said that due to the impact of storm No. 5 causing moderate to heavy rain, there is a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, downstream areas of rivers, localized flooding of bridges on some traffic routes in mountainous areas, localized flooding in urban areas, landslides on slopes of communes in mountainous areas, works under construction, landslides on river banks and streams, and landslides on traffic road slopes.

As of 4:30 p.m. on August 25, in Tuyen Binh commune, heavy rains caused traffic disruption, isolating 178 households with 608 people; Tuyen Hoa commune had 5 flooded points cutting off inter-village traffic routes; Thuong Trach commune had 4 flooded spillway tunnels; Kim Phu commune had 2 flooded spillway tunnels; Kim Dien commune had 4 flooded spillway tunnels; Truong Son commune, the overflow tunnels into Ploang, Zin Zin, Trung Son, and Doc May villages were now flooded, causing local isolation.

Currently, the entire province has evacuated on-site and concentrated with a total of 1,640 households/5,193 people. Due to the impact of storm No. 5, a house in Kim Phu commune had its roof blown off.
