Tuyen Phu Commune: 91 households evacuated to prevent storms and floods

QTO - On the afternoon of August 25, Chairman of Tuyen Phu Commune People's Committee Phan Thanh Phuong said: Due to the impact of storm No. 5, there was heavy rain in the commune. To proactively respond, local authorities have organized the evacuation of 91 households in vulnerable areas to safe places.

To prevent and combat storms and floods, local authorities and functional forces in the area have supported people in strengthening houses, equipment, vehicles, facilities, documents, and storing necessities... according to the "4 on-site" motto.

Currently, the whole commune has relocated and evacuated 91 households, 283 people. Of which, in the Phong Khong hill area, Dong Lam village, 19 households, 48 ​​people were relocated to Dong Lam Kindergarten; 22 households, 87 people were relocated to relatives' houses in the village. In Phuc Tung village, 12 households, 33 people were relocated to safe houses. In Ba Con hamlet area, Dam Thuy 1 village, 6 households, 22 people were relocated to the resettlement area of ​​Thiet Son village 5.

In villages 5 of Thiet Son and Ha Trang, 24 households and 69 people at risk of landslides have been relocated to live with other households in the village. In Dam Thuy 2 village, villages 3 and 4 of Thiet Son, Dong Tam and Ha Nam , many households in temporary houses at risk of landslides and flash floods have also been relocated to safe places. The households evacuated to avoid storms and floods have been visited, encouraged, and supported with food, medicine and drinking water by the Party Committee and authorities.

Currently, Tuyen Phu commune has harvested 5/344ha of summer-autumn rice; 11ha of aquaculture area and 135 fish cages have been anchored by the people, with a plan for safety protection. In the area, 1 person was injured due to house bracing and was taken to the emergency room and treated promptly.
