Also attending were Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Council for Nationalities, Chairman of the Vietnam - Brazil Friendship Parliamentarians' Group Nguyen Lam Thanh; Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations Phan Xuan Dung; representatives of ministries, sectors, enterprises and numerous members.
The report at the Congress showed that during the 2016-2025 term, the Association has actively implemented many people-to-people diplomacy activities, acting as an important bridge between Vietnam and Brazil. Delegation exchanges, friendship exchanges, community connections and information dissemination have contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and deepening the traditional relationship between the two peoples.
One of the notable highlights is the completion and publication of the Portuguese-Vietnamese Dictionary , the first work carried out by a friendship organization. This achievement not only has academic significance but also creates a solid linguistic foundation for cultural exchange,education and bilateral cooperation.

The Congress elected the 3rd Executive Committee consisting of 35 members and the Inspection Committee consisting of 3 members. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep was elected as the new President of the Association.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep expressed his honor to take on the responsibility at a time when the Vietnam - Brazil relationship is developing strongly, and pledged to continue to inherit the achievements of previous terms with the Executive Committee, promoting innovation and creativity in the Association's activities.
New President Nguyen Hoang Hiep affirmed that in the coming term, the Association will focus on strengthening people-to-people diplomacy, expanding cultural exchanges, promoting connections between the business communities and localities of the two countries. Along with that, the Association will focus on establishing relations with the Vietnamese community in Brazil, promoting external communications, as well as propagating the policies of the Party and State to overseas Vietnamese.

Speaking at the Congress, Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani said that the relationship between the two countries is at its best ever, built on the foundation of political trust and open dialogue.
He highly appreciated the role of the Vietnam - Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association in strengthening the connection between the people of the two countries, and expressed his hope that the new Executive Committee will continue to promote dynamism and effectiveness in implementing people-to-people and cultural cooperation activities.
Following the speech of the Brazilian Ambassador, VUFO President Phan Anh Son assessed that this Congress took place at a special time when bilateral cooperation is being strongly promoted at many levels. According to him, in just the past 3 years, the two countries' senior leaders have had five meetings, showing the growing level of attachment and importance in the Vietnam-Brazil relationship.

He suggested that the Association should quickly implement the full-term work program, maintain regular activities and proactively seek effective cooperation models in potential fields such as education, tourism, science and technology, as well as connect businesses of the two countries.
In order to enhance the cultural depth of bilateral cooperation, Mr. Phan Anh Son proposed three specific initiatives: Translating the work Prison Diary and Ho Xuan Huong's poems into Portuguese; digitizing the Portuguese-Vietnamese Dictionary for free distribution; and enhancing communication to raise public awareness of the role of the Vietnam-Brazil friendship.

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Van Lang - former Chairman of the Association, Term II - was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister in recognition of his important contributions during the past term.
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations also awarded the Medal "For Peace and Friendship among Nations" and Certificates of Merit to the Association and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements, and posthumously awarded a Certificate of Merit to an individual who had made positive contributions to people-to-people diplomacy activities.
With the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and innovation, the 3rd Congress of the Vietnam - Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association was a great success, opening a new development path, contributing to further deepening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
