Nearly 385 billion VND donated in the first phase to the Cuban people

As of August 31, 2025, the total amount of money raised in the first phase has reached nearly 385 billion VND. This number is a clear demonstration of the power of consensus and solidarity throughout society.

On September 1, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, immediately after the talks, under the witness of General Secretary To Lam and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and high-ranking delegations of Cuba and Vietnam, Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, presented the first installment of VND 385 billion to support the Cuban people.

The first round of support was transferred directly to the Cuban people after 20 days of mobilization to promptly support urgent medical and food needs, helping you overcome difficulties and stabilize your lives.

The support transferred before the September 2nd celebration is an effort of the Program to support the Cuban people chaired by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, in coordination with agencies and ministries, under the direction of the Party, State and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Previously, right after the national launching ceremony on August 13, 2025 in Hanoi, the "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship" campaign to support the Cuban people quickly received widespread support from all walks of life. Through online campaign channels, the program achieved the goal of raising at least 65 billion VND in just 30 hours.

In the following week, nearly 2 million hearts turned to Cuba through each donation and each specific response activity at the local level, extending the strong influence. Many provinces, cities, armed forces, bilateral friendship associations, large enterprises, social and professional organizations, cultural and educational units and a large number of overseas Vietnamese accompanied, demonstrating community responsibility and special affection for the brotherly Cuban people, further affirming the image of a humane, loyal and responsible Vietnam in the international community.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society emphasized: “Every contribution of the Vietnamese people today is a message of love and responsibility. Together we are continuing to write the golden pages of the special solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, leaving a mark for future generations.”

As of August 31, 2025, the total amount mobilized in the first phase has reached nearly 385 billion VND. This figure is a clear demonstration of the strength of consensus and solidarity throughout society. This is only the initial result. The program will continue to be widely implemented until October 16, 2025, mobilizing practical resources to support the Cuban people to overcome difficulties in life, health, education and sustainable development.

In the coming time, the Program Organizing Committee will continue to promote propaganda and mobilization activities widely throughout society. Diverse, transparent and convenient forms of support will be deployed, so that all people, organizations and businesses can join hands.

The year 2025 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (1960-2025). Throughout that journey, the two peoples have always stood side by side, sharing the joys and sorrows, the hardships, and the hardships together.

The program “65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship” is an opportunity for the Vietnamese people to express their respect and loyalty to the Cuban people; at the same time, it is an opportunity to further strengthen the traditional friendship, contributing to consolidating peace, cooperation and sustainable development.
