The road maintenance management unit said that the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. this morning, November 24, causing more than 2,500 cubic meters of rock and soil from the positive slope to slide down onto the roadbed, causing traffic congestion. The unit mobilized human resources and machinery that had been gathered at key locations on the route earlier to urgently work on clearing the road. By around 8 a.m. this morning, the above section of the route had been opened to traffic in the first step.

According to information from the Quang Nam Department of Transport, heavy rains in recent days have also caused landslides on the slopes at km82 +550 and km89 +450 on National Highway 24C, passing through Tra Nu and Tra Giang communes (Bac Tra My). The management unit has made efforts to fix the problem and reopened the first phase of the slopes yesterday evening.
