Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec is currently the "most famous man in the world " due to his extremely nonchalant demo, simple outfit, and lack of special equipment, yet he still won the Silver Medal in shooting at the 2024 Paris Olympics in a very "cool" way.

Yusuf Dikec's homeland Türkiye is located at the “crossroads of civilizations”, between the two continents of Asia and Europe. The country has a large area in West Asia and a part in Southeast Europe. Therefore, the lives of the people have nuances of both continents. Not only is there a cultural exchange between East and West, Türkiye also preserves the magical beauty of the ancient Ottoman Empire, attracting millions of visitors.

Cultural "heart"

Turkish culture is a blend of elements, from language and communication, to art and cuisine, with a rich history and unique cultural characteristics. Exploring Turkey is a great opportunity to understand that extraordinary diversity.

The two "heart" places of Türkiye are the capital Ankara and the city of Istanbul.

In the capital Ankara, when visiting mosques, tourists should pay attention to their attire because if you wear shorts or tank tops, you may be asked to leave by the managers.

When going to markets and shops, remember to bargain, this is a typical culture of the Turks, otherwise, you can easily get ripped off because the sellers often "shout" prices up to 2-4 times the original price. Handcrafted bronze items are very worth buying souvenirs here. You can find many unique items in countless vases, cups and many other utensils. Many unique and sophisticated items can satisfy even the most demanding collectors.

Istanbul, Türkiye's largest and most famous city, was once voted one of the most attractive destinations in the world by travel magazine TripAdvisor.

Wandering around Istanbul, you will realize that every corner of the city is imbued with the city's cultural and historical identity. Watching the sunset at Galata Tower or relaxing with a cup of coffee on the corner of Taksim Street will also bring unforgettable memories.

Istanbul has two bridges connecting Europe and Asia. It is interesting to stand on the high hill where the TV tower is and admire the two banks, one side is Asia and the other side is Europe.

In Istanbul, we should visit places like the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia with its exquisite architecture, the Dolmabahce Palace, the Topkapi Palace which preserves many precious relics of the Ottoman Empire and the Grand Bazaar - one of the busiest markets in the world.

The Blue Mosque was built in the early 17th century and is the largest and most beautiful of the mosques in Istanbul. The highlight of the mosque is the use of more than 20,000 blue tiles and more than 50 different tulip designs for decoration.

Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul is also one of the famous tourist attractions, not only because of its magnificent architecture but also because it is right on the Bosphorus Strait, where the two continents of Asia and Europe meet.

The palace was built in the 19th century, under Emperor Abdulmecit, using 14 tons of gold, 40 tons of silver and more than 4,500 square meters of hand-woven carpets as construction materials.

Autumn (from September to November) is a good time to visit Türkiye due to its mild weather. Winter (from November to March) is cold and rainy. Due to the decrease in tourists, exploring Turkey during this season is more leisurely. Vietnamese tourists who want to travel to Türkiye can choose popular airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airlines, Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines...

Many outstanding heritages

Türkiye currently has 17 world heritage sites, including two mixed sites and 16 cultural sites. The two mixed sites are Göreme National Park, the Cappadocia Rocks and Hierapolis-Pamukkale.

Among the cultural heritages, the most famous is the archaeological site of Troy. Dating back more than four millennia and having played an important role in Homer's Iliad and Virgil's Aeneis, Troy was rediscovered by archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann in the late 19th century, and has since become one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world.

Another notable heritage site is the city of Ephesus, featured by the fusion of ancient Greek and Roman culture. Located on the Ionian coast, Ephesus dates back to the 10th century BC, thriving under Roman rule.

Some other cultural heritages include: Bursa - the first capital of the Ottoman Empire in the 14th century; Diyarbakır fortress and the cultural landscape of Hevsel gardens; Hattusha capital of the ancient Hittite empire...

Turkey is a country with ancient monuments, ancient architecture, beautiful natural scenery and rich and diverse culture. This “crossroads of civilizations” will definitely bring you the most interesting experiences and discoveries.
