Lighting up tradition for the younger generation

Việt NamViệt Nam25/09/2024

One of the contents of the Program of coordination of activities between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Veterans Association is to coordinate the organization of traditional education, impart revolutionary struggle experiences, foster patriotism, the desire to establish oneself, start a business for a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization for the young generation.

Among many forms and methods, the Veterans Association of Doan Hung district has organized the transmission of traditions through the "Grandfather tells his grandchildren" Festival, which has been welcomed by the Party Committee, Veterans, and People as a method of continuing the tradition, attracting the attention of the younger generation.

Lighting up tradition for the younger generation

The festival "Grandpa tells his grandchildren" attracted a large number of people to participate.

At the festivals, by presenting real stories and writing scripts, the information and propaganda team and social opinion collaborators of the base acted as the core in coordinating with the Youth Union, the Women's Union, schools and affiliated units to present the program "Grandfather tells his grandchildren". The Executive Committee of the District Association organized training and equipped the association's cadres and information and propaganda teams, social opinion collaborators to grasp the basic issues about the potential and experience of war veterans who were trained and tested through revolutionary struggles; about composition and direction; about script writing and program staging; about practice and performance.

Since the first time it was held in 2019, the Festival has mobilized 100% of the Association of War Veterans in communes and towns to participate. The Organizing Committee has received 33 works from all walks of life. Not only writing scripts, directing and staging the program, many people also directly participated as actors with cadres and members of the Association of War Veterans such as teachers, students; cadres, union members, youth; cadres, women's union members, the elderly; teenagers and children; there are also children and grandchildren of war veterans working far away, and businesses also sent entries.

Through 2 times of organizing the Festival, there were 420 participants, over 37,000 viewers. It can be seen that, in the current context, the propaganda work about the glorious tradition and history of the Party and the nation, especially the sacrifices of the fathers and grandfathers through the revolutionary periods to regain independence and freedom for the Fatherland and happiness for the People is an extremely necessary task. Doing this well is to help generations of Vietnamese people, especially the young generation, understand the value of peace ; arouse patriotism, national pride to be more responsible to the community.

The "Grandfather Tells Me" Festival is a traditional method of rekindling the fire, opening up vivid and attractive historical pages and hopefully will continue to be deployed and popularized in many localities, on the occasion of important political events of the country and the homeland in the coming time. This is also a practical program to continue implementing Directive 42/CT-TW, dated March 24, 2015 of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for the young generation in the period 2015-2030 and implementing the Program of coordination of activities between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Veterans Association in the period 2018-2023, 2023 - 2028.
