Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Hanh Phuc inspected the progress of the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Project

On the morning of July 15, a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directly inspected the column foundation locations that are facing difficulties in site clearance and construction of the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project, passing through Cam Nhan and Yen Thanh communes. Accompanying the delegation were leaders of departments, branches, Power Management Board 1 and local authorities.

The delegation directly inspected the field at some areas along the route corridor that are facing difficulties and problems in site clearance, resettlement arrangements and construction progress of the contractor in Cam Nhan and Yen Thanh communes. Through the inspection, the biggest problem of the project at present is still site clearance.

According to the report, as of July 14, 2025, in Cam Nhan commune, 34 column foundation positions have been handed over. However, there is still one household that has not agreed to relocate due to the compensation price.
In addition, there was a complicated case involving two households (including the father's and son's households) due to problems with the conditions for receiving relocation support, causing difficulties in mobilization work.

A column foundation construction site affected by landslide in Cam Nhan commune

In Yen Thanh commune, as of July 14, 2025, the site for 22 column foundations has been handed over. However, the relocation work is still stuck as 3/6 households subject to relocation have not agreed with the compensation plan because they think the unit price is low, despite repeated efforts by the local government.

Regarding land acquisition, he requested units to focus on resolving problems related to policies, compensation prices and other support for people, and to complete related procedures and documents before August 15.

Regarding the compensation price issue, comrade Ngo Hanh Phuc emphasized that the current price cannot be increased, so it is necessary to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work so that people understand and agree, combined with the application of other forms of support.

He requested that specific plans be developed to organize the relocation and resettlement of households and that these plans be made public so that people know about them. Close coordination between agencies and units and timely handling of arising problems are key factors to promptly hand over clean land for the project.

As planned, in the afternoon of the same day, the working group will continue to inspect the actual situation in Thac Ba commune.
