The famous culinary website Taste Atlas announced the voting list on March 15, in which Vietnamese bread was rated the highest with 4.6/5 stars in the 100 best sandwiches in the world . Possessing a unique and distinctive flavor, bread is always desired by international tourists when visiting Vietnam.

Taste Atlas believes that the crispy, spiced, meaty bread, accompanied by herbs, chili and pickles, represents the typical taste of Vietnamese people. In particular, the element that makes the unique flavor of Vietnamese bread is said to lie in the filling inside. Currently, the filling of bread is increasingly diverse, including chicken, pork, beef, seafood, cold cuts or pate, sausage. Each region has a different way of making the filling. To help visitors refer to, Taste Atlas suggests some famous bread shops in our country in Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi ...

In this list, two versions of banh mi have contributed to making Vietnam famous according to Taste Atlas's ranking, including banh mi thit (9th place) with 4.4/5 stars and banh mi heo quay (29th place) with 4.3/5 stars. This is not the first time Vietnamese banh mi has been honored by Taste Atlas. In February last year, this culinary site also announced the 50 best street foods in the world, in which Vietnamese banh mi ranked 6th.

Vietnamese bread has long been recognized as delicious around the world. On March 24, 2011, the word "banh mi" was recognized in the Oxford English Dictionary with the note "A type of sandwich of Vietnam". This street food is also included in many other famous world dictionaries such as Cambridge, Merriam-Webster...

Vietnamese bread has long crossed borders and appeared in many stores around the world. Culinary experts say that thanks to its unique spices and fillings, Vietnamese bread is especially popular with foreign tourists.

“Western tourists like us, when thinking about Vietnamese banh mi, are often impressed by this filling sandwich, not only with a lot of pate, but also with cucumber, pork floss, herbs, sauce or chili sauce. The price is extremely affordable, even less than 3 dollars. Try the taste of banh mi once, in my opinion it is extremely delicious,” a foreign male tourist commented.

Another female tourist expressed: “We are in Saigon and are preparing to enjoy one of the Vietnamese dishes that is most known to international tourists, which is banh mi. Vietnam has many delicious street foods. But when asking foreign tourists, most people mention banh mi - a dish that appears in almost every corner and street in Vietnam.”

The fact that Vietnamese bread is ranked number 1 in the voting list of a prestigious global culinary website has partly shown that the appeal and quality of this rustic dish is increasingly known and recognized by friends around the world. It is not too much to say that bread has brought the culinary story of Vietnam beyond its borders, and is increasingly loved by many international tourists when they come to explore the unique culinary culture of the S-shaped strip of land.
