The eight strongest Vietnamese players participate in the Eight Heroes Chess Tournament

The Organizing Committee selected 2 seeded players, who are International Grandmasters and National Masters, for each group. Accordingly, International Grandmaster and 2023 National Champion Nguyen Thanh Bao is in Group A with National Masters Nguyen Anh Man, Dao Van Trong and Phi Manh Cuong.

Group B has seed Nguyen Anh Quan - National Master, 2023 Strong Player Champion, and other National Masters Phan Trong Tin, Chu Tuan Hai and International Master, 2010 National Champion Vo Minh Nhat.

Players compete in a round robin in groups. Each group selects the 2 players with the best results to enter the semi-finals, from which the 2 winners are selected to play in the final, the two losers compete for third and fourth place.

Each match has 2 games of first and last move, rapid chess each side has 20 minutes + 5 seconds. After 2 games if the result is a draw, a blitz game will be played, the first side has 6 minutes, the second side has 4 minutes, each move plus 3 seconds.

The champion received a prize of 20 million VND, the second prize received 10 million VND. The third and fourth prizes received prizes of 7 and 5 million VND respectively.
