On July 11, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular press conference for the second quarter of 2025. Attending the press conference were leaders of relevant departments and branches and about 50 journalists and reporters from central and local press agencies.

At the press conference, comrade Ngo Quang Hung, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee informed the press about the socio -economic development situation in the first 6 months of 2025, tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2025.

Specifically: The economy continues to maintain growth, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increases by 11.03% (ranked 3rd out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide, calculated according to 34 new provinces and cities). The total number of tourists reaches over 12 million (up 16% over the same period in 2024), of which international visitors reach over 2 million (up 18% over the same period in 2024), total tourism revenue reaches over VND 29,140 billion (up 31% over the same period in 2024). Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the first 6 months increased by 18.1% over the same period. Total budget revenue reaches over VND 30,000 billion (reaching 54% of the estimate, up 8% over the same period in 2024, ranking 7th nationwide and 3rd in the Red River Delta provinces). The total public investment capital plan for 2025 is 13,130 billion VND. By the end of June 2025, the province had disbursed 4,245 billion VND (equal to 35.7% of the capital plan assigned from the beginning of the year)...

Social sectors continue to receive comprehensive care. The province has allocated about 1,270 billion VND to implement social security policies (an increase of 11% over the same period); public health care,education and training have many positive changes. Quang Ninh is also one of the localities with a high rate of excellent national and international students, demonstrating the increasingly improved quality of education. Employment activities have been promoted (reaching 58.6% of the annual plan). National defense, security, social order and safety have been maintained; foreign affairs activities continue to be expanded, contributing to consolidating the position and image of Quang Ninh in the region and internationally.

Along with economic development, Quang Ninh has seriously and properly implemented the arrangement of a two-level local government model, ensuring publicity, democracy, transparency, and compliance with legal regulations; creating high consensus and unity in the entire political system, especially the consensus and support of voters and people, towards building a government close to the people, serving the people better.

The leaders of the Department of Home Affairs further clarified the implementation of the two-level local government model in the province from July 1 to present.

Identifying 2025 as a year of special importance, the final year of the term and the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, in the last 6 months of the year, Quang Ninh province continues to focus on the following key tasks: Completing all socio-economic development goals and targets in 2025, striving for the whole year's GRDP to reach 14% or more, of which the third quarter will reach over 19.65%; focusing on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of budget revenue and expenditure management and strictly managing public investment; accelerating the development speed and completing the synchronous and modern infrastructure system, ensuring connectivity, comprehensiveness, focus and key points, especially works to celebrate major holidays and the 16th Provincial Party Congress and starting a number of major projects on health and transportation; Strong administrative reform, support for private economic development, improve the investment environment, reduce business conditions, promote digital transformation and digital government; develop high-quality human resources; strive to have no poor and near-poor households according to the province's criteria by the end of 2025; complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before October 30, 2025 and the Housing Support Project for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs in the province before September 2, 2025; manage resources, protect the environment and respond to climate change, completely handle outstanding land projects, control pollution, prevent flooding and ensure water security...
