Helping disadvantaged students go to school

On the eve of the new school year 2025 - 2026, many organizations, units, businesses, and philanthropists in Khanh Hoa province have organized programs and activities to support disadvantaged students in the locality to go to school.

On August 28, Dong Hai Ward Youth Union coordinated with Brigade 955, Naval Region 4 and Pham Ngoc Anh Thu - a student of class 7/9, Tran Phu Secondary School (Dong Hai Ward) to organize a program to award scholarships and gifts to students in difficult circumstances in the ward. The units awarded 1 scholarship and gifts worth 2 million VND to Tran Ngoc Duy - a student of class 6A3, Tran Hung Dao Secondary and High School and 4 gifts (worth 500,000 VND/gift) to students from preschool to secondary school. Ms. Nguyen Le Anh Thu - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Hai Ward, Secretary of the Dong Hai Ward Youth Union said: "The value of the gifts is not large, but it is sentiment, a source of spiritual encouragement, contributing to sharing and supporting students with especially difficult circumstances in the locality to go to school. In particular, with the spirit of sharing and compassion, Pham Ngoc Anh Thu proactively took the prize money of 1.5 million VND from a swimming competition to join the Ward Youth Union to give gifts, helping students with especially difficult circumstances have more conditions to study".

Previously, Phuoc Huu Commune Youth Union also coordinated with Ecotech Tra Vinh Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company, Tra Vinh 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Green Roof Energy Company Limited to organize a meaningful charity program "Nurturing knowledge". The program presented 10 gifts (worth 500,000 VND/gift) to families in difficult circumstances in the locality; 20 scholarships (worth 1 million VND/gift) to poor students who have overcome difficulties and strived to study well; 1 special scholarship worth 3 million VND for a student with a serious illness who has the will to excel in studying; 90 gifts (worth 350,000 VND/gift) to students and a "Green Library" project worth 34 million VND to Hoai Trung Primary School (campus 2). According to Mr. Vo Duc Linh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuoc Huu Commune, Secretary of the Phuoc Huu Commune Youth Union, the Commune Youth Union continues to connect with philanthropists inside and outside the province to implement the movement "Sponsoring poor but studious students" in the coming time.

At Phuoc Khang Primary and Secondary School (Thuan Bac Commune) - a school where most of the students are ethnic minority children with difficult circumstances, in August, the school's Board of Directors coordinated with benefactors inside and outside the province to give many meaningful gifts to primary and secondary school students. Teacher Nguyen Thi The - Principal of Phuoc Khang Primary and Secondary School said: "By August 29, the school had coordinated with benefactors to give 323 uniforms to primary school students, 409 gym clothes to all students in the school and 125 uniforms to secondary school students. In addition to uniforms, units and benefactors also donated school supplies and necessities, helping some students have better learning conditions."

Also in August, the Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited to organize the program "Going to school with you to help your dreams", giving 50 gifts including calculators, backpacks, notebooks, and pens (worth 1 million VND/gift) to disadvantaged students of secondary schools in Dong Hai ward. According to the plan, on August 30, the Provincial Red Cross Society continued to coordinate with Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited to organize the above program, giving 50 gifts including calculators, backpacks, notebooks, and pens (worth 1 million VND/gift) to disadvantaged students of secondary schools in Dien Khanh commune.
