Support building charity houses for the disabled

On August 29, the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans (PWD-TMC) coordinated with Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company and local authorities to organize the donation of funds to support the construction of charity houses for people with disabilities in Dong Trieu and Hoang Que wards.

The Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled - TMC, Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company and Dong Trieu Ward gave support to Ms. Do Thi Mai (Yen Lam 1 Area, Dong Trieu Ward) to build a new house.

The first case is Ms. Do Thi Mai (71 years old), residing in Yen Lam 1 area, Dong Trieu ward. Ms. Mai is disabled and lives alone in a seriously degraded level 4 house that is at risk of collapsing at any time. Due to her old age and poor health, she is no longer able to work and her life depends entirely on monthly social benefits.

Faced with the above difficult situation, the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Handicapped People and other benefactors mobilized 60 million VND in support to help her build a new house, of which Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company contributed 20 million VND and the Provincial Fund for the Support of People with Disabilities and Handicapped People supported 40 million VND.

Leaders of the Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled and the Disabled, Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company and Hoang Que Ward presented 60 million VND in support to Mr. Tran Van Tuan (Lam Xa 5 Area, Hoang Que Ward) to build a new house.

The second case is the family of Mr. Tran Van Tuan (53 years old), residing in Lam Xa 5 village, Hoang Que ward. Mr. Tuan is severely disabled and is receiving monthly social benefits. Mr. Tuan currently lives alone in a level 4 house that was built nearly 40 years ago, with peeling walls, a leaky tiled roof, and is unsafe, especially during the rainy and stormy season.

The Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled and the Disabled has mobilized Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company to support Mr. Tuan with 60 million VND to build a new house. With support from the government, relatives and clan, Mr. Tuan's house is under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2025. The new house will help him have a stable place to live and improve his living conditions.

These humane activities are part of a series of programs responding to the plan to eliminate temporary housing and dilapidated housing in Quang Ninh province; at the same time responding to the movement "Connecting loving arms for the disabled and disadvantaged in Quang Ninh" in 2025, thereby practically contributing to the implementation of the province's social security policy.
