Currently, on average, Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2 needs about 30 to 40 units of blood and blood products per day to treat and provide emergency care for patients. However, after a long period of blood shortage from all levels, the hospital is facing a serious blood shortage. Currently, the treatment and emergency care for patients depends entirely on blood mobilized from patients' relatives and daily blood donations from staff, doctors, and volunteers. However, the amount is still not enough, especially during the September 2 holiday, when the demand for blood for emergency care and treatment for patients is expected to increase.

Faced with that situation, Provincial General Hospital No. 2 calls on the community with sufficient conditions and health to participate in donating blood, sending trust and kindness to help patients overcome critical conditions.

According to records, on the very first day of sending out the message of donating blood to save lives, Provincial General Hospital No. 2 received nearly 20 units of blood from medical staff and blood donors.
With the message "Every drop of blood given - A life remains", Provincial General Hospital No. 2 hopes to receive the cooperation, sharing and spreading of the whole community.
To facilitate blood donors, during the 4-day holiday, the Hospital always has a standing department, ready to welcome and accept the noble gesture of organizations and individuals volunteering to donate blood to save lives.
