Thong Nhat Ward was established on the basis of the arrangement of the original status of 3 administrative units including: Yen The, Dong Da and Thong Nhat wards; natural area of 22.92 km2 , with 21 residential groups and 2 villages, population of about 48,720 people.
After the merger, Thong Nhat ward is located in a convenient traffic location with main roads: Pham Van Dong, Le Dai Hanh, Truong Son, Ton Duc Thang.
In the ward, there is Pleiku Airport, which is considered an important factor and a strength to promote the development of trade - services, tourism, logistics and supporting industries; at the same time, creating favorable conditions for quick connection with major economic centers such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang.
Institutions serving the people such as markets, schools, and medical stations are maintained, contributing to ensuring a stable life for the people. Theeducation system has 3 levels: high school, middle school, and preschool, ensuring to serve the learning needs of students in the area.
The health system with 2 military hospitals and 3 ward health stations basically meets the needs of medical examination, treatment and health care for local people. The staff and civil servants are basically sufficient in number, ensuring capacity, qualifications, responsibility, and quick adaptation to the new model after the merger.

From July 1 to 9, Thong Nhat Ward Public Administration Service Center received 391 records; of which 134 records were received and resolved directly at the Center, and 194 records were received and transferred to the Gia Lai Provincial Land Registration Office, Pleiku branch for resolution.
At the meeting, the ward leaders proposed and recommended solutions to difficulties and problems in the area after the merger, related to issues such as: office buildings, technological equipment, and means of serving work have not been invested synchronously; the change of the place to handle initial administrative procedures caused confusion for the people.
In addition, issues regarding the overall residential zoning plan for the ward; attracting investment to implement the Yen The market project; land and construction management; ensuring urban order in the area... were also proposed by the ward at the meeting.
Concluding the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Rah Lan Chung acknowledged the initial results in the activities of Thong Nhat ward after the merger, demonstrating the determination of the ward's political system with the spirit of being close to the people, solving a large amount of work in the area.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the ward to review, inspect, evaluate, and promulgate working regulations and rules for the work of the Party, People's Council, and Fatherland Front; continue to review the missing positions; evaluate the operating mechanism through the reception of executive documents; information technology system, means, and working machinery; and control financial issues well...
The ward also needs to determine the time, personnel steps, and document content to well organize the Ward Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
Regarding the difficulties of Thong Nhat ward, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the ward to continue to effectively manage public assets after the merger; overcome difficulties, quickly stabilize, and promote efficiency in handling administrative procedures to get closer to the people and serve their needs.

Based on the planning, Thong Nhat ward needs to propose solutions to solve difficulties and problems at Yen The market, not allowing the situation to continue to drag on.
At the same time, review projects in the area such as residential areas and roads; propose specific plans and solutions to create land funds, expand development space, especially the route from Pleiku Airport through Le Dai Hanh Street to create a main traffic axis, create leverage in attracting investors as well as exploiting economic development potential.
In addition, the ward needs to study the preservation of culture in 2 ethnic minority villages, from which there is an orientation for tourism development. With a large land fund, the ward continues to study and develop more community living areas to improve the spiritual life of local people.
During the visit and working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Rah Lan Chung inspected the operation of the Thong Nhat Ward Public Administration Service Center. Through the inspection, he highly appreciated the process of receiving and handling administrative procedures at the Center.
