What role do young people play in digital transformation?

In the digital age, young people are both digital citizens, digital consumers and digital creators. Therefore, young people actively participating in digital transformation will make the country increasingly prosperous.

On the morning of October 7, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association coordinated with the Center for Youth Science and Technology Development and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to organize the 2023 International Student Science Forum, with the theme "The role of youth in digital transformation". The activity aims to create an environment for exchange, learning and discussion between Vietnamese students and students around the world.

Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee... Also attending the forum were 100 delegates who were students from 37 schools from 10 countries.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Tran Thu Ha, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association, said: “The forum aims to create opportunities for students from many countries to study and exchange knowledge related to the topic, to be inspired not only by other students but also by experts and scientists to learn and cultivate cultural knowledge, skills, and foreign languages, which are necessary elements of global citizens.”

Ms. Tran Thu Ha hopes that through this forum, it will not only stop at quality academic exchange but also strongly express the voice of young people, including the students present here.

“We are the creative subjects of the digital transformation of each country . Please trust and empower us for the sustainable development and progress of society,” said Ms. Tran Thu Ha.

Speaking to young people and students at the program, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the biggest challenge in digital transformation for each country and locality is the digital skills of the people and the culture of living in a digital environment. For students and young people, you have the conditions to access and apply technology faster than previous generations, becoming both digital citizens and digital consumers and digital creators.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc hopes that students will actively participate in the digital transformation process.

Mr. Duc said: "The role and position of young people and students in digital transformation is very important. You are the future of the country, and will be the ones to lead us into the digital world . Your creativity, enthusiasm and knowledge will help us overcome difficulties and challenges. All young people, including students participating in the program, should learn, research and actively participate in the digital transformation process. Become an active subject in the digital transformation process, making your country increasingly prosperous in the digital age."

Mr. Duc hopes that in the coming time, there will continue to be more exchange, connection, and communication activities in terms of academics, scientific research, and innovation among youth and students of Ho Chi Minh City with countries in the region and around the world.

After the opening ceremony, the forum took place in 2 sessions. The plenary session was the part where speakers shared their research and the poster session for delegates to present summaries of their discussions to subcommittees such as: Youth with technological solutions to promote digital transformation; Digital transformation ineducation , health, environment; Improving digital capacity for youth.

Within the framework of the forum, 100 delegates will visit the Reunification Hall, Ho Chi Minh Museum branch in Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Thanh market...
