The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that last evening and night, July 7, many areas in the Northwest and the South experienced heavy localized rain.
Rainfall recorded until dawn on July 8 at some specific measuring stations was as follows: Truong Xuan ( Dong Thap ) 125.6mm; Nhon Hoa Lap (Tay Ninh) 62.2mm; Pha Long (Lao Cai) 66.6mm and Yen Thuong (Phu Tho) 57.4mm.
It is forecasted that during the day and night of July 8, the mountainous areas of the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with common rainfall of 15-30mm, some places over 80mm, concentrated in the late afternoon and night.
Ho Chi Minh City had showers on July 8, then cloudy and hot weather lasted until evening. According to international weather forecast models such as GFS (Global Weather Forecast System) and AccuWeather (USA), from noon to afternoon, Ho Chi Minh City will have less rain but still maintain cloudy conditions. The highest temperature is about 32 degrees Celsius, but due to humidity ranging from 65-77%, the RealFeel index can exceed 39 degrees Celsius, causing a feeling of heat and suffocation. The wind blows from the southwest.
In the late afternoon and evening, the clouds continue to thicken, with the possibility of scattered light thunderstorms. The temperature at night gradually drops to 27-28 degrees Celsius, however the air is still quite stuffy (sweltering) because the humidity does not decrease significantly.
On July 8, Hanoi is hot and humid, with high temperatures and humidity, and a very high RealFeel index, which can cause fatigue if you stay out for a long time. There may be thunderstorms at night, so be careful of lightning and gusts of wind. The meteorological agency recommends limiting outdoor activities for long periods of time (11am-3pm), bringing hats, sunscreen, and drinking enough water.
