Local authorities have coordinated with relevant agencies to urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize the lives and activities of people in affected areas.
The heavy rain on the night of July 5 caused the water flow from the upstream of steep streams to be so large and strong that the temporary bridge at Na Loi 2 village (Na Loi commune) was washed away, the road connecting the center of Na Loi commune to Xuoi San and Pieng Lau villages was temporarily cut off, and traffic was completely paralyzed. In the commune, there were some deep flooded areas, strong currents, very dangerous for vehicles and people passing by.
By the morning of July 6, many households in highland and border villages such as Huoi Xai 2, Pha Khao and Huoi Thum of Na Loi commune had to evacuate and urgently evacuate to safe places due to the risk of continued landslides, threatening directly people's houses and structures. This is an area with complex geology, weak and unstable ground, steep terrain, prone to landslides and subsidence after days of heavy and prolonged rain.
According to the Na Loi Commune People's Committee, the extreme weather occurred at night, making it difficult for authorities to access the scene. Currently, the locality has deployed forces at key locations to promptly respond to incidents; coordinate with border guards, militia forces and local people to mobilize human resources and machinery to urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters, level rocks and soil, and repair temporary roads; continue to review and promptly evacuate household items in dangerous areas.
