Mbeumo just wants to join MU. |
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said Mbeumo is still very patient and waiting for the next offer from MU to Brentford. The Cameroon striker maintains his stance that he only wants to play at Old Trafford next season.
Chelsea and Tottenham both considered signing Mbeumo, but the striker turned it down. He is contracted to Brentford until 2026 with the option of a further 12 months.
Previously, two offers from MU were rejected, the most recent of which was worth £55 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons. Brentford remained steadfast with their desired price of £70 million, claiming that this request was reasonable when compared to recent deals such as Noni Madueke (£50 million) or Anthony Elanga (£55 million).
Daily Mail said the reason MU was slow in this deal was because of the difficulty in selling players like Antony, Jadon Sancho or Marcus Rashford. The "Red Devils" were hesitant before making a third offer for Mbeumo.
The Telegraph reported that MU hopes to complete the Mbeumo deal before this year's summer tour. The "Red Devils" will play Leeds United on July 19 in Sweden. After that, the team will travel to the US to play 3 friendly matches against West Ham (July 27), Bournemouth (July 31) and Everton (August 4).
