[ Ho Chi Minh City] On July 17, 2023, Manulife Vietnam officially announced the appointment of Ms. Tina Nguyen as the Company's General Director, subject to regulatory approval. Ms. Tina will report to Mr. Phil Witherington, President and CEO of Manulife Asia.
Ms. Tina Nguyen joins Manulife Vietnam from Generali Vietnam, where she has been CEO for the past 7 years. Prior to that, she worked at Prudential Vietnam for over 11 years and held various senior executive positions, including: Executive Vice President - Marketing and Business Development, Vice President Customer, Vice President Strategy, and Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining the insurance industry in Vietnam, Tina was the CFO for Texas Electric Cooperatives in Austin, Texas, USA. She began her career as an auditor at Ernst & Young and worked across the group’s network of offices in Asia (Hong Kong, Vietnam) and North America (Canada, USA). Commenting on the appointment of the new CEO, Phil Witherington, President and CEO of Manulife Asia, said: “Tina Nguyen’s appointment reinforces Manulife’s priority to drive growth in Vietnam and other emerging markets in Asia.
