For nearly two decades, Djokovic has spent his time crushing the hopes and dreams of all his opponents while pursuing his own goals. And Djokovic did so once again with a dominant 3-0 win over Dan Evans (6-3, 6-2, 6-0).
This is Djokovic's 99th win at Wimbledon. And his 19th third-round appearance puts him ahead of Roger Federer for the most wins in the Open Era.
Speaking to the British press after the match, Djokovic said: "He (Dan Evans) can cause a lot of trouble if you are not at your peak. But fortunately I prepared very well for the match. Technically and tactically, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I did it perfectly today."
In the third round, Djokovic will face compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic. The 38-year-old's immediate goal is to aim for his 25th Grand Slam title.
Then he can think about retiring and enjoying some great moments on the beach. Djokovic said: "To be honest, I haven't stopped to think about it yet. I don't have time.
I think it's probably going to come when I put the racket aside. And then I'm having margaritas on the beach with Federer and Nadal. And then we're just reflecting on our rivalry and everything."
