Speculation about a relationship between Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz began after the British tennis player was spotted watching and cheering on Alcaraz's matches at the Queen's Club Championships earlier this month.
She was spotted at Alcaraz matches last Thursday and Saturday, sparking rumours that the two were “dating”. The pair were also seen laughing and arriving at the venue just minutes apart, further fuelling fans’ curiosity.
The last time the pair met was at an Evian event, when Alcaraz was announced as the mineral water brand's newest global ambassador. Raducanu has also been a face of Evian since she became a British sporting sensation after winning the 2021 US Open, paving the way for lucrative deals with Nike and Christian Dior.
Asked if they had discussed strategy for the upcoming US Open (where they will play mixed doubles in August) at the Evian event, Raducanu cheerfully replied: "No, it was fun yesterday. We were both on the court with Evian. We just practiced some volleys before New York. Yeah, I was really happy to play with him. We had a good time."
When asked about the romance rumors, Raducanu just smiled and said: "We are just good friends."
The press conference moderator quickly cut off further questions, causing Raducanu to laugh and comment humorously: "Nice way to end!".
“He was so kind, so fun, had great values and was just a positive energy to be around,” Raducanu shared about Alcaraz.

The Briton continued: "I've known him for many years, Wimbledon 2021 was the first time I started to get to know Alcaraz. He always played the day before me, I would see him win and then I would be motivated to win and put myself in that position. It was great to go through that tournament together and then I continued at the US Open. We kept in touch throughout that time, it was great."
Alcaraz also previously revealed to Mail Sport at Queen's that Raducanu made him wait before agreeing to play mixed doubles at the US Open.
Raducanu jokingly replied: "You have to keep them in suspense! I had to ask my team if they thought I should play with Alcaraz. But when he asked me, I was about to say yes, and ask my coach."
