Nam Cum village has more than 60 households with 100% of the population being Mong ethnic group. Although it is a Mong ethnic group village, the name of the village is taken from the name of the Thai ethnic group. In Thai, "Nam Cum" means cold water, roughly understood as a place with an altitude close to the water source flowing from the mountain stream, so it is cold all year round. The households here live on a rather steep mountainside, each house is divided into layers clinging to the concrete road winding through the village like a fish bone. According to the locals, every March, the whole village is immersed in the white color of Bauhinia flowers, each ancient Bauhinia tree appears and disappears behind the roof, the pure white color surrounds the whole village.

To get to Nam Cum village, from Dien Bien Phu city, go to the Phieng Ban valley intersection in Na Tau commune, then turn left, go through the center of Ngoi Cay commune, Muong Ang district to reach Nam Cum village. As soon as you reach the beginning of the village, you will see large, ancient Ban trees with white flower buds blooming on the hills.

Nam Cum village is 30km from Dien Bien Phu city on the national highway and belongs to Ngoi Cay commune, Muong Ang district.
The road to Nam Cum has many traditional Thai houses on both sides, along with rice fields and streams, which is also a sight not to be missed.
The houses of the people are layered and cling to the concrete road that winds through the village like a fish bone to near the top of the mountain.
