The workshop was held in the spirit of implementing Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2025 of the 12th Central Executive Committee at the 11th Conference. In the near future, the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong will be merged into one province, named Lam Dong province.
The workshop aims to contribute to the good preparation for the merger and most directly, to build the documents of the Congress of Delegates of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (new) for the term 2025 - 2030.

The workshop takes place in 1 day, experts, scientists, managers, together with leaders of 3 provinces Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong will focus on assessing the current situation, sharing experiences, proposing specific orientations and solutions to contribute intelligence, proposing solutions for the development of Lam Dong province (new) with the goal: "Building and comprehensively developing Lam Dong province, taking stability as the foundation for development; taking economic development as the central task; taking happiness and prosperity of the people as the goal to strive for; by 2030 Lam Dong province will become a fairly developed province, with high average income, in line with the orientation and vision for national development".

Speaking at the opening of the Workshop, comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee emphasized: The Workshop took place in a very special context - when the orientation of regional linkage and merger of the three provinces of Lam Dong - Dak Nong - Binh Thuan is being studied and discussed at a strategic level, at that time, the new Lam Dong province is expected to be expanded to the largest scale compared to other provinces in the country with a natural area of more than 24,000 km2 , with a population of about 3.87 million people, a GRDP scale of 320 trillion VND, ranking 8th in the country, opening up huge space and potential for development (with forests, seas, border gates, dry ports and seaports; becoming the capital of a number of industrial crops, fruit trees and aluminum bauxite industry).

On that basis, the Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee emphasized: Today's workshop is an important forum to have more data and practical arguments, thereby, repositioning more carefully, orienting more clearly for the development of Lam Dong province in the near and far future, in which the immediate future is to integrate into the Draft Documents of the Congress of Delegates of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (new) with the spirit of innovation and creativity, the aspiration to build Lam Dong province to develop dynamically, sustainably, with a unique culture, a higher standard of living and quality of life than the national average.

The Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee proposed that, in order for the Workshop to ensure quality and achieve its set goals, comrades, experts and scientists should research, discuss and clarify two main issues:
Firstly, after the merger, the new Lam Dong province will have a very large natural area, accordingly, the space and opportunities for development will also open up. However, along with that are inherent difficulties and challenges that need to be promptly overcome. Therefore, the Workshop needs to look at and assess comprehensively and objectively, and evaluate carefully and clearly the potential, advantages, and development space of the new Lam Dong province; planning and connectivity within the province and between regions, etc.
Thereby, suggesting to the province strategic development orientations, key tasks of the province in the coming time; especially development breakthroughs that are truly leverage for the development of the new Lam Dong province based on the potential and available advantages of the three localities of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong after the merger.
The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges in each field that Lam Dong province needs to frankly acknowledge and focus on overcoming in order to develop in a stable and sustainable manner.
Second, from the effective development models of localities and countries around the world, at this Workshop, I really hope to receive comments, in-depth contributions and valuable experiences from experts, scientists and opinions from leaders at all levels, sectors and localities to propose new development models for the province in the coming time and help the province solve the problem - answer the questions being raised in a specific and effective way.
